Any GLC Owners With Flat Bottom Steering Wheel?
Anyone take delivery in the US on a GLC that has the flat bottom steering wheel? Someone (Fabbrisd1 I believe) had mentioned that it comes with the designo interior and I wanted to see if that has been confirmed. A lot of the images of the car I see online seem to have it, some of which have the design interior, but that doesn't mean much since they could be pre-production models, etc.

And that's the ONLY advantage to the flat bottom steering wheel. It look's cool. I have it in my C300 Sport. TBH, it's form over function. i.e., it doesn't feel natural to turn a wheel that isn't completely round. I've adjusted to it, but if there was an option on the C Class to get the sport package, without the flat bottom wheel, in retrospect, I would likely take it.

Us northerners need extra insulation to survive the winter Plus I'm big-boned! haha
Speakign of eating...my wife is from the Tampa area and though she no longer has family there, we keep talking about visiting simply to have dinner at Bern's Steakhouse.

As someone who has lived in Tampa over 20 years, I find Bern's just OK. True you can walk in the kitchen and pick out a live fish to have for dinner (but why you'd do that in a steakhouse is beyond me). And yes, the upstairs dessert room, is kind of cool. But overall, the inside looks like a Bordello and the food isn't as fabulous as the prices would suggest. I know year after year, it's ranked as one of the top 10 Steakhouses in America, but I just don't quite get it.

Honestly, it's more about the sentimental value - it was one of her father's favorite restaurants and he passed away a few years ago. That and their macadamia nut ice cream which is world class!

I thinks the flat bottom wheel works great if you have a quick steering ratio or a high performance car but on a SUV? Maybe on a GLC 63 then it makes sense

I get that. And I know people who wouldn't go anywhere else for a special occasion meal. It is world renowned. It is. However, there are other steak houses in Tampa, I think are actually better.

I've only seen the flat bottom steering wheel on Designo-equipped GLC's (US spec). I'd imagine that's the only way to get it, unless it comes with the Nappa leather?
I never realized how much I liked the standard round wheels until I drove a GLE450 with the flat wheel. I really expected to love it, especially since I'm a motorsports minded person, but it didn't happen. Very unnatural feeling, abrupt transition when making tighter turns. I'm sure it offers some benefit paired with heavily-bolstered seats but I don't see a reason for them on SUV's aside from looks. Heck, even Porsche doesn't use them!

I have the wheel which comes part of the AMG interior package.
This wheel feels chunkier in addition to the flat bottom.
No functional difference for me but looks sporty IMO.
I prefer sport interiors instead of classic interiors in whatever car I drive.
Will post a pic soon

Not sure about on the GLC, but on the C300, the flat bottom wheel is part of the sport package UNLESS you also get the heated steering wheel. In that case, the heated steering wheel is only available in the normal/round version.

I have flat bottom on my c class. It is very nice but I will be fine with the regular wheel coming on my GLC.

Haha, figures! Honestly I didnt research it much, but I wonder if that's an actual Porsche wheel or just an aftermarket rim with the factory bits attached? Edit: Looks like at least the boxster can be had with a flat bottomed wheel.
I love the look of the MB flat-bottomed wheel though, especially the AMG version with the alcantara.
