I don't think anything is coming this model year. The VW fiasco has really hurt all US diesels and the EPA has much stricter emission testing now. Really too bad.

Agreed. I would be very surprised to see diesels from any manufacturer in the near future.

A gaggle of MB's
It's not the EPA has changed the "standards" - it's the EPA has not decided on how the "testing" fopr passenger vehciles should be re-done ... US diesel standards are quite "clean" -cleaner than gas actually

Agree. Are you under impression that the diesel GLC will not come out this year? It has not even been released for the C class yet and taht was supposed to be earlier this year in the US.

The following link states:
"Mercedes sells one diesel model in the U.S., the 2016 GLE300d. The company plans to introduce the 2017 diesel version of the GLE midsize crossover by year end, Moran said, as well as the 2017 GLS350d, the diesel version of the brand’s large SUV."

Well, I enjoy my 2016 GLE300d.

BMW EPA Approval bodes well for this;

New member, 2nd GL350 (in a 2016 now) - and I'm a VW TDI owner who will take the buyback and get a GLC 300d - if they're available at the time . . .

Got a note into my dealer to see if they have any fresh insight into availability.

There are so many of us VW/Audi diesel owners who would readily buy a new MB diesel after the buyback. I certainly hope MB realizes the opportunity if they're able to get the feds to approve their cars for sale in the USA.

That Reuters announcement BMW diesel EPA approval is not accurate - so that you know.

No - there isn't a GLC300d scheduled for 2017 model line up - maybe next year EPA will get their act together..

Curious - what is not accurate about it? I have heard from multiple sources that 2017 diesel BMW's have been approved.

Yes, I've found nothing that indicates the Reuters announcement about BMW is not accurate.

That said, it still appears that Mercedes is not on track for 2017 diesels. I hope the EPA gives the approval, but that has not occurred yet.

My observation is, those of us wanting a GLC Bluetech will need to be very patient. Its going to be a while.

As fabbrisd1 posted above a big part of the reason for delay is the EPA. Additionally, there seems to be an over abundance of caution on the part of the automobile manufacturers.

A curious development is GM is about to launch a diesel powered Cruze.

I contacted three dealers in Montreal and one in Toronto; all four are telling me no diesels this year due to the VW issue, they have no ETA at this time.

Too bad, I really liked the diesel in my GLK250.

That . . . is a drag. Because I'm going to get something in Nov/Dec out of necessity/requirement (VW TDi buyback). The GLC 300d would have been perfect. Not interested in a gasser.

Glad we got the new 2016 GL350 when we did! One of the last perhaps.
