GLC

2016 GLC Parts

I was involved in an accident and my 3 weeks old GLC had about $5,000 worth of damage. It has been three weeks and the body shop is still unable to get a new OEM windshield. At this time they have no idea when they will get it. In the meantime, I cannot drive the vehicle.

Any suggestions on how to track-down parts?

Yikes...that's a drag. I wonder what's so special about the windshield that they can't source one? I'm sorry I can't be of any help.

Sorry to hear that. Parts are always a pain to get on newly introduced cars., the GLC seems to be one of them. I think the windshield is dependent on equipment you have on your car. Do you have driver assist or park assist. There are cameras next to wiper sensor. Might have to get get windshield from Germany. I hope they get her fixed real soon.

It's a shame actually - when a new model comes out - the "back end" on parts availability for repairs is not in place for several months.

My advice - contact Mercedes Customer Care - which starts a back channel - I can't guarentee - but it always helps to do something - ..Sorry so far man - really - not on you.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope you didn't get hurt. Just wondering if the collision prevention feature did help a bit.

I was able to get a quote for a lot of chrome trim pieces (my car had a black package i did not want) and a estimated delivery of 3 days. any dealer should do this.

I managed to get the dealership to source parts from the night package to fit to my GLC- the black gloss black front grille backing slats and the rear black gloss strip on the lower bumper. I have the standard non night package amg line 250d and just preferred the look of the non silver grille and the chrome strip just looked wrong so low at the rear of the car (to me, anyway). Think it looks better now.

Took some time for the dealership to work out what was needed to swap over using as much of the original parts as possible and to get the correct part numbers (especially for car with the 360 camera option) but once ordered delivery was no more than a week and all fitted in a day. All in total cost plus fitting was c £400 not cheap but, for me I've got the look I was after- a 'half way' night package and my car is slightly different from the growing number of GLCs on the road.

The surplus silver front grille parts are now for sale on eBay to U.K. buyers if anyone is interested including an early eBay purchase of a black front grille, but this couldn't be used as it wasn't suitable for a car with the camera option.

the ebay reference number you gave me are both the front center grills, and not the bottom grill chrome parts I am looking for. Do you know which part I am talking about? I put up photo earlier... Please let me know if you know if I can get those I am looking for. Thanks

thanks for the quick reply... but is it possible to ask the dealer for me cuz I am in Taipei, Taiwan, thats why I am not able to do so myself. The Taiwan dealers do not have this part as I have already asked... Thanks

Would suggest you raise with you dealers direct again- if they supply the AMG 43 I suspect they can source the parts- if not then best contacting MB direct. Thanks

When I had a crack on my X5 windshield, the glass shop said they can't replace it. They need to special order a windshield from the BMW dealership, because I had the Head Up Display.

Are there any reputable online OEM sites? Several Acura dealerships run accessory shops online that sell parts at a huge discount over the local dealerships.

Looking to buy OEM mudguards, a cargo liner, and all-weather mats.

GLC 43 didnt come into our country yet. Regardless, thank you anyways...
