So this has happened twice in the 6 weeks or so that we have had the GLC. I have come out to the garage to find the right front eyebrow led light and park light on...only the one side and only on the front. If I lock/unlock the door using the key fob it seems to reset itself and turns off.
In both cases I had been in and out of the garage several times during the day and I know the light was not on and at no time did I touch a door handle or key fob.
There seems to be a German ghost in the machine that is messing with me. The GLC has the intelligent LED headlight system and high beam assist.
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior or have any ideas?

Is your indicator turned to the left or the right? On some cars this enables the relevant headlight to be lit - a safety feature for if you're parking on a dark road.

Do the cars have a valet feature so if you approach it with the key it illuminates to light the way? Maybe it's something to do with that though why it's one side doesn't make sense. I would take it in to have it looked at (good luck replicating it though!).
Key was on my toolbox some 12' away.
If it happens again I will take some pics and show the dealer when it is in for first service. Not worth a trip to the dealer to be told no fault found unless at some point it happens more often.

Or a video can help show the dealer also, and show how you turn it off or how it goes away.
I had these kinds of weird things on my old BMWs and Audis. (late 1980's). Along with the digital clock showing weird characters rapidly cycling during certain parts of the commute, like something straight out of the X-files.
Was hoping the Germans had done better with their electrical work and design these days!

Nope...I had checked that and headlight switch is set to auto

That was first thing I checked as I was aware of that "feature".Originally Posted by tron786

This exact thing happened to me once, but I haven't seen it like that again. A little strange.

I also have had this happen on my GLC 300 about 4 or 5 times in my garage. I even took pictures to show that the lighting switch is still set to Auto and no other lights come on. It usually happens on the driver side, but has also happened once on the passenger side. Mercedes service has no idea what is causing it.

Once I get mine I'll be able to pin it down a little more. The car will have CCTV on it all night so I can review exactly what time(s) it turns on and off if it happens!

This started happening to my Glc300 over the weekend but it's the driver side. I got an error message saying my high beam is inoperative and to check my low beam. After fooling with the off/on button then back to auto set again, error messages went away and the left side is back to functioning normal again. However, the next day when I went to get something in my garage, the left side is on again. I locked/unlocked my car and that seemed to fix it. Later that evening, it's on again, wtf?! It seems like the car is playing tricks on me, either that or he just like to wink at me, lol. So, I finally called my MB service department and explained what I experienced over the weekend, they advised to turn in my car so they can run some test. I'm scheduled to turn in my car tomorrow and of course, my car is no longer winks at me. The test will probably come back normal and I'm going to look like I'm seeing stuff.

After taking my GLC300 to the dealer to get it checked out, they found that there is an issue on the programming, so they fixed it. I had to leave my car overnight. Another thing they told me is that some models (mostly European models), the right parking light will come on to help the driver find their car at night. Unfortunately, my car does both sides, but at different times and even when I'm not in P, plus I was getting error messages (check low beam light and adaptive highbeam assist inoperable) so, clearly something wasn't right. I'm glad I took my car in and now no more winking car!

Thank god! What a relief. I'm in the market for one of these sexy beasts and I'm glad to see any kinks are worked out with software updates.Originally Posted by daffy1

I just happened to our car today (passenger side), or at least I just noticed it today. Not sure if it is worth taking the car in for service on this issue alone. Hopefully it does not drain the battery so badly.
Moslem, did you ever get yours fixed?

I got mine fixed and no charge as it's under warranty. If you decide to take it in, it's best to take a picture for proof!

We replace the lighting modules quite often on these new LED lighting cars, the software is a little wonky still at this point. We often have to attempt initial startup programming more than once on a brand new module.
I feel like this tech was rushed out, and there's some QC steps that were overlooked. I know LED lighting isn't new but the way MB is doing it, they are having what seem to be silly problems.
Good thing for warranty

Well, had GLC in for first service today and asked them about this issue and to check it out. They were not able to duplicate (of course not) and no fault codes found. I was told about the "Euro park light feature" which I knew about but this is not the issue as I had already checked that out. They said no software updates. Soooo they have no solution.
For those who have had similar issue and if software was updated please advise as to what your repair order may say in regards to this. Thanks.

Yes, I have the same issue, and my headlght switch rotates off of auto on its own. I nearly got stranded today as it ran down the batteryOriginally Posted by molesen

I have hit the headlight knob with my knee once or twice, moving the knob to "Left Parking Lamps."
They will stay on all night, which is their purpose in Europe.
Since they are LED's, they shouldn't run down a battery unless it's pretty low already. Short trips don't adequately charge the battery in many cases.
