Headlights - turn off when not in auto mode?

MB GLC 300
Headlights - turn off when not in auto mode?
Normally, I always keep my headlights in auto mode. However, if you have headlights turned on with "on setting" instead of "auto" setting, will they still automatically turn off when you exit the car?

Normally, I would just test it. However, I just parked my car at the airport and realized afterwards that my lights were left in the "on" position. I'm hoping that I don't return to a dead battery!

Well...... I've just had a few pints of Guinness so I'm tempted to draw it out a bit longer!!


The bad news is ... it's raining here again - don't know why that's a surprise here in Ireland!!
