USB Ports
Does anyone know if the GLC's USB ports can be used to charge an iPhone? Or, are they a read-only type? It seems to me that, if they do provide charging capability, it must be a very low trickle charge at best.

I think someone posted before that they are mostly for data but will charge slightly. I honestly haven't used them to charge so I can't say for sure. I ordered one of these for the socket in the ashtray and it works great -

Okay, I see when the phone is connected to the USB there's a charge icon on the phone. But I'm assuming it's a very slow rate of charge (can anyone verify?); nonetheless it's a charge. My guess is that maybe 8 hrs on the USB will deliver a full charge on a 10% charged phone. Apparently, the USB has power even when the ignition is off; at least that's what the phone icon tells me.

The usb charges my iPhone 6+. It definitely is a slow charge. I don't have a measuring device with me but am estimating 0.5A-1.0A based on the observed speed.
If you want to run a better test, plug in an ipad. If it can charge the ipad without the warning coming up, it will be at least 1A which it requires at min. without displaying the warning.

From the charging speed I would assume it is the USB 1.0 and 2.0 specification, a standard port capable of delivering up to 500mA (0.5A)
I use a low profile lighter socket usb rated at 2.1 amps which quickly charges the phone and still allows me to close the console cover.

I've been using the 115 volt receptacle at the rear of the console.
Don't know how the rate of charge compares with the other ports.

Not sure if the 12v outlets turn off when the car is off....

They will turn off shortly after turning off the car. They are triggered by the ignition.

Iphone wont't charge at USBs, C300 '15 won't charge iphone from either USB in center box anymore..... We have been charging since day one, actually we have never attached memory to it. Anyone know where the fuse is for this interface part? Or if it even has a fuse since its electronic? Or anything?

It will be perfect if they include a 12v socket beside the USBs. Allows me to use a higher amperage 12v socket usb adaptor while keeping the mess of wires hidden from view.

Someone once measured that it charges at 0.5A.
Which is the same as the wallplug that it comes with. Dont expect the speed to be like iPad chargers (which I use at home).
My Lexus charges at around 0.25A which is slow charge and when the GPS is on, the battery will not top up.
