2017 GLC model ordered?
However, dealer is saying that the Burmester is REQUIRED with P02 package and that if he tries to remove it, he gets a cross validation error when submitting. The guide (which has several noted discrepancies against NetStar) shows Burmester as a standalone option.
Has anyone ordered a P02 configured car without Burmester? Can anyone validate this dependency?
We plan to pull trigger on this ASAP - my dealer is hoping for a September delivery (he already built us a car a few weeks ago with issues on options) - believe it when I see it.
You guys are great,
KLM
Regarding the Burmester...a previous DOG included it in P02, but it was since removed and is now a standalone item (810, price = $850). I ordered a GLC on Monday and my build shows it that way.
I believe your SA is wrong, but he's in the ordering system so one would think he knows how to use it. It doesn't make sense that things would have changed in the four days since I ordered my car, though.

A 2016 GLC 250 ordered in January, but in the end it
turned out a 2017, since it won't be delivered until December.
In the mean time, I'm leasing a CLA 220d. (like wearing a back pack).
The orders for GLC in Sweden have widely surpassed every possible expectation,
and the waiting time has therefore taken these abnormal proportions. Anyway, it
will hopefully be worth the long wait. Haven't decided on all the options, quite yet.
The Burmester Surround Sound System is not included in that list--it is a separate line item on my build for $850.

According to my dealer, there's never been any embargo or anything related to the official August 1 release date.
My 2017 GLC will be at the dealer on 8/13. The dealer just sent me the MSRP, VIN, etc. My order included the P03 Premium Package and Ventilated Seats. I chose Black Leather.
The MSRP list includes:
Heated / Ventilated Front Seats (401) @ $1080.
Interior Package (318) @ $2250, which includes Leather Upholstery (20X) and the Power Passenger Seat w/ Memory (242)
Black Leather (221) @ $1620
Has anyone else seen this $1620 for 221? In 2016, 221 Black Leather was $0. I have not seen this change mentioned in the forum.
In 2016, the Interior Package (318) was $2500. All of the features have been moved in 2017 to P01, P02 or are now stand alone like the ventilated seats. The only thing MB left in the package is the Leather Upholstery. They added the nice passenger seat and the price is now $2250. In 2016 the passenger seat was $430 as a stand alone, which means that about $1820 is for the Leather Upholstery.
To me that means that they are charging $1620 for Black Leather (221) and $1820 for Leather Upholstery (20X). Is this correct? It looks like double charging for leather to me.
If this is the 2017 pricing, then so be it. I just don't like finding out about it by reading the MSRP. I just figured a change like this would have been mentioned on the forum somewhere.
When I asked my dealer, he basically told me that the 2016 GLC was so successful that MB had to change the pricing. Understood, no problem, but it still looks suspect to me.
Please let me know if others are seeing this pricing also.
Or I may be too far into the weeds with this.

Thanks!
The dealer saying the car was so successful that they are raising the price is also wrong--it was a very minimal increase, and the options/packages (although packaged differently) didn't go up appreciably either.
Since you are getting your car pretty early, I think it was perhaps built from a different option list/DOG than the most current one, so it's possible that's the reason...but I doubt it. I remember reading one member's new car had Package P04, which was available for a short time but was later eliminated. So, it appears MB builds the car to the options available at the time, and the sticker reflects that.
I would really question being charged that much for the leather. Something is off.

This shows that the option 318 (page 24), $2,250, includes 20X leather upholstery, plus the fancy powered passenger seat. The way I interpret this, "20X" is a stand-in for any of the leather upholsteries on page 19, which are listed without price. In the remaining pricing, nothing else is listed for Leather. It looks like this is an error, probably caused by numerous revisions to pricing/DOG while our cars were happily bobbing about in the Atlantic. I would challenge it.
I am going to challenge them on this. I may not get anywhere (and I really do still want the car), but if the pricing wasn't final when it was ordered then I should at least be able to argue the current final pricing. I may have to get them to build the order again just to see what the pricing is now. Interesting point about the price being locked in depending on which preliminary DOG was out. Even though none of them reference a cost for 221.
The dealer changed one of their allotment cars for me so I would get it earlier, which is great for me! They ordered it without letting me know they had done so. We had left it that we would wait for final pricing before ordering which was fine, but as far as I am concerned, I haven't signed or agreed to anything yet.
