Has anyone installed the after-market GLC running boards ?
Has anyone installed the aftermarket running boards ?
I am looking for feedback on the quality of the aftermarket running boards (around $400 a set) - and I am also looking for feedback on what was required to get them installed in terms of time or money ?
Let me know - keep the beat !

I just ordered the OEM running boards from the dealer. Planning on installing them this weekend. They are just bolt-on so I don't think OEM or aftermarket would be that difficult to do.

When you go to install the OEM running boards - could you snap some quick pics - or come back after the install and tell us how long it took you - and if you found install easy or challenging ?
In the dealer "shop" estimates - it shows 5-6 shop hours - same as GLS/GLE - and I think the GLC "should" be straight forward.
I need your report as "proof" - and reporting back will help others..

Was Told Factory Needed to Install?
I was told it would be cost prohibitive to install the OEM running boards. I ended up cancelling an order and ordering another (1 month delay) because of this. Curious how much the labor charge is or how much trouble it is to install on your own since I'm a DYI'er

Installation was VERY easy. Basically unbolt the old trim and bolt on the new running boards. Took me all of 1.5 hours for both sides. All you need is a small flat head screw driver and a 10mm socket.
I followed this youtube video...
....although its not for the GLC, the procedure is the same.
I will post pictures later with a write up.
Dealer price for the running boards is $710. Took them 5 days to order.

Install That Easy
Well isn't that a kick in the pants. I saw that video and the one that plays afterward and totally could of done that. The only thing I didn't like is the overlap of the lip in the back. I would of been driving mine by now as well. Hopefully sometime in August now. Thanks for updating.

I'm assuming they are just for looks? Function wise the GLC is not high enough for them to be useful unless your related to Billy Barty.
