Has anyone tried to fit a vertical hood/bonnet ornament?

I would like to fit a vertical MB-star to the bonnet when I get my GLC, -hopefully in October.
This is easily done on the C-class. But I have seen a picture in a thread on this forum which shows that the underside of the bonnet does not have the access hole to the bottom of the ornament.
Has anyone tried to fit the vertical star??

The emblem is now adhered to the hood instead of fastened from underneath. Probably to discourage people from doing that. Have you actually seen a Benz with a grill emblem and a hood emblem?? It looks extremely tacky

"It looks extremely tacky"

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :-)
Vertical hood emblem is an option in addition to the grill star on the C-class

I've worked for MB for many years and have never seen that as an option. I've only seen people buy them and install it themselves. Please enlighten me...

On the C Class a vertical ornament is part of the "Luxury" package, but there's no grille star.

right. as I was saying, it looks tacky with both. And I've never seen both unless somebody added their own on the hood, or hacked into their grille to add one. Either way, it looks tacky.

Mercedes has always been putting the star grille on their truck/SUV (and coupe) models without any vertical ornament on the hood. They've never offer the aforementioned as an option.

I agree that putting both grill emblem and a vertical ornament is beyond tacky. Thought I did see a few "Craigslist special's" like that with salvaged titles. Not a good look nonetheless... unless we are talking about the Lincoln Towncar :P

Anyone get any information on installing the vertical star. BTW - I Love the vertical star! I plan on putting it on my GLC. So, Any info on installing it, since the 2022 GLC does not have the hole in hood is greatly appreciated. Oh ps I do not believe the question was asking for any irrelevant personal opinions, the question is only asking for information on installing the vertical star. Thank you in advance.

I just searched at AliE.
No idea if you can replace between those. You try.
