Worth it? $7K to upgrade from P1 to P3+Parking Assistance Package+Sports Package
One dealer gave me an offer for, with
P1 +
SC card Garmin Nav +
LED Headlamp/Traillamp
And suddenly another dealer gave me a very aggressive offer for :
P3 +
Advanced Parking Assist Package +
Sports Package
Both contains panorama roof, heated seat, etc., even the colors are the same.
With other options to offset each other, MSRP difference is $8430.
But the sale price difference (before tax and fees) is $7000, though some of the options/packages might not be very useful to me.
I am hesitating whether to pull the trigger.
On paper, the $7000 difference looks a good deal:
P3 - P1 = $7200 - $1250 = $5950
Advanced Parking Assist Package = $1550
Burmester Sound System=$850
Sports Package and 19" wheel/tire = $1900
Thoughts ? Thanks in advance.

I didn't get the sunroof, because I've had many sunroof cars, very rarely use it, and the one on the GLC might transmit too much light/heat for the So Cal climate.
I didn't get the Sports package because I had that on a previous E350 and the ride was a bit harsh for my taste.
Ditto for the larger wheels. They look sporty, but may contribute to harsher ride.
Some things that stand out to me in the options I got are Driver Assist, which I've had on two other Benzes, and won't buy one without it now. In LA traffic, you can relax a bit and let the autonomous features take away the worry. It only has to save you once to be worth all the money you paid and more. These systems have gotten better with each iteration.
The 360 camera makes tight parking lots a breeze, and the Parking Assist gives you distance indications of objects as you close in on them.
The Adaptive Headlights are the best of any car I've driven. They turn as you steer, beams dip and rise incrementally as required, cornering lamps light sharper turns.
The Burmester sound is incredible.
I have a loaner GLC300 right now, while my own is in the shop getting the wind noise corrected by installing acoustic glass in the two front windows. The loaner is a stripped model, so it has underscored for me that the options I chose were well worth the price.
My recommendation is to pay the price, get the car fitted out the way you want, and you will enjoy it much more. Overall, it is a wonderful car, best of the six Benzes I've had.

Also do you take AWD or RWD ? In a rainy day (I know it's dry in LA), would a RWD work well ?

I come from a very basic previous car to this one, and I have to say I love it! Here are the most of what I find useful:
As BobbyT mentioned, the 360 camera makes parking a breeze. I use it almost every time I am parking. It is a really nice feature to have, and I love how I no longer have to open the door to see if I am within the parking lines.
Before I purchased my GLC, I had the dealer line up two MB side by side, one with a regular speaker system, and the other one with Burmester. Burmester definitely has an incredible sound system. However, if I did not get to compare it side by side, I probably would have just grown used to the regular sound system and not know what I was missing out.
I love my pano-roof, and while I am anti sun to some extent (prevent wrinkles and skin cancer), I find that I have used my pano roof quite a bit. My old basic car had a sunroof, which I barely used, but the pano gives you a less claustrophobic feeling and the backseat feels more roomier, which I also tested a GLC that did not have pano-roof. Now, I love in sunny So Cal, and I know that I cannot stand getting into a car with burning leather seats, so I got all my windows (windshield, rear, door/sides) besides the pano tinted with the highest heat rejection tints (80-90%) I could get, and so far it's been very cool/cold inside my car when I get in on a nice warm sunny mid-70s day. However, I might be going back to the shop that did my windows tinting and ask if they can tint the pano-roof, in case when summer hits and it does get warmer inside.
Since I did not get a custom order my GLC, it came with larger 21' wheels, it looks great matching the sportier AMG and night package. However, it is definitely harsher ride, adn Thanks to the rain a couple of weeks back in So Cal, the roads are a mess, and I already notice rock chips on the lower/bottom front side panels behind the front wheels. I am regretting that I did not clear bra/XPEL that area (I only clear bar my entire hood, front bumpers, side mirrors and those plastic side door panels that get scratched easily), so I am going back to the shop to have them clear bra that bottom area.
Like BobbyT mentioned, the Adaptive Headlights are such a wonderful feature to have.
I cannot comment on Driver Assist yet, because I have not used that feature enough. However, my husband who gets to drive my car every once in awhile, love that feature, while not a Tesla, it still comes in handy during stop/go traffic.
I have not really got to use the Parking Assist for parallel parking so far, but during the demonstration at the dealer, it was mind blowing how it squeezed into a tight space, which I would have never attempted to park on my own without the Parking Assist. However, with the HANDS-FREE ACCESS for open/close liftgate has come in very convenient for me.
Sports Pkg comes with the AMG models, and it works for that aggressive/harsher look I guess, and so the AMG Night Pkg. complement the rest of the body quite well.
I cannot comment on the RWD vs. AWD. I have always had AWD cars, even in So Cal. However, from what I have been reading before I decided on the GLC 43 model, I would have just got RWD and save the money to get all the other packages and HUD.
I hope this helps!
I think the safety feature in P3 is a must have. You will appreciate it on the days when you feel tired and drowsy but need to drive.
I didn't get the "Advanced Parking Package". My current car has rear view camera and I never have problem with parking. I don't need my car to park itself.
