Map/GPS updates
As a GLC owner in the US (and maybe other countries?) if we have the navigation/GPS system installed,we are entitled to three years of free map updates as I understand it. I have owned my GLC since last March and have not had any updates applied. Does anyone know when an update might be available? Or, perhaps it is already available?
Thanks

You need to ask your MB dealer is there any update available? If there is a new update available, you can bring your car into the dealer and they will install the latest Map for your navigation system.

I've noticed several new roads are not showing up on Command but have made it to our portable Garmin. The local dealership says my map version 2017 (V7.0) N. AMERICA is the current version. Has anyone seen a newer one?

I was wondering the same thing. I had an A service in January, and was told that there wasn't an upgrade available. But I drove a demonstrator yesterday which the dealer would have had since around then and which had a 2016 compliance plate, and it definitely had a different navigation screen and more roads. Have Any Australian users had a map upgrade?

This is all a bit confusing. I have a 2017 GLC 300 for USA. Two dealers have stated that 2016 V7.0 is the current and only available map version in USA. Just today our dealer told me that MB is on a two year map release cycle.
melun481, is your screenshot from a US GLC 300?

Just looked at mine which was in the shop for the A service a month ago. Version 6.1. That pisses me off. If you don't ask for it the dealer won't do it. Mercedes service sucks.

Dealer's will not volunteer to check for available upgrade - since it takes 2+hrs to download the upgrade while connected wireless thru Satr.equiv - - and Mercedes doesn't pay labor for the install and ties up tech's portable

Was at dealer yesterday. Your map should now be 2017/2018 as mine which was delivered end Feb 2017. Dealer said expect next up date toward end of 2018. Guess it would say 2018/2019 after that update.

Must check wife's Coupe, delivered Feb 17, but I think it has old maps ?
Dealer stuck a sticker over face of Command unit saying complimentary update undertaken.

Teckno, could you please do me a favour? Could you go to the navigation screen in your two vehicles, and from the bottom menu row, select "Options | Map Content | Map Version" and tell me the version numbers? Mine says "2015 (v4.0) Australia / NZ". My service was only a bit ahead of yours, and it would be very unfortunate (and unlikely) timing if the update was released in that narrow window. I'm about to travel long distance for an extended period and so tackling this and the W164 spare will have to wait for a couple of months.

Very disappointed as it was listed in the invoice to be updated and now i have to take it back.
Wish there was some way of doing it via the Mercedes app.

I have always been a
Garmin GPS user, up to now. The Command system is acceptable and works much better that the poor-excuse GPS in our older 2009 E Class Bluetec car. We have a great service at Carousel Motors, Iowa City, so I don’t expect any concerns when it’s time to update. One exception, when I select ‘rest areas’ to appear on the map (POI’s), depending on location, sometimes they hide behind the Interstate logo. To get around it I have to zoom in or out to bring it into view.
