Sport plus on the GLC43

Two things, my car is a us build GLC43 with summer 21 inch wheels:

(1) anyone got tips on how to get the best Crackle and pop sounds? Keeping my revs low for the first thousand miles

(2) today put my car in sport plus while driving slowly around a 90 degree corner (15mph not accelerating) and car juddered fairly violently as if it was a stick shift about to stall. Anyone else experienced this? My takeaway was note to self - do not use sport plus unless you genuinely intend to drive fast. Only happens in sport plus.

Don't have mine yet so can't offer any real tips - could anything have to do with recommendation to drive in Economy during break in period?
Interested in seeing what others say...

First of all, break in your engine

1. Easiest way to get the crackling sounds is to decelerate fast or just rev the engine whist in sport or sport+ mode. Tends to be easier when the engine is still cold.

2. Sport+ is not meant for slow easy driving. I had the same thing happen on a BMW 645Ci with an SMG gearbox.

Could this be a rare LHD version of this problem?

Easiest way to manipulate the crackle and pop:
Use manual mode and downshift into 2nd when cruising on surface streets. Goose the throttle and then immediately let off. The overrun will produce the crackle on demand and in 2nd gear will provide the loudest and most pronounced crackle.

Thank you - this technique is exactly what I was after.

Why would my dealer tell me that these engines are already broke in?
I questioned that in my mind when they told me that, luckily when I will pick it up this Saturday it will only have 60 miles on it so hopefully it wasn't beat too bad in that short period of time. I think I put on 20 of those miles too.

Well the break in period (written in the manual) is 1000 miles (~1500km) so I don't know how your dealer got that information.

The technical expert who handed over my car said just take it easy for the first 100 miles to bed the tyres and brakes in.

I was reading the manual and haven't found where a break in period (mileage) is recommended. Do you mind sharing where you found this info in the manual? Thanks

Thanks. As I was reading through the manual I found this

Really, this can't be true can it?

Engine oil
General notes
Depending on your driving style, the vehicle
consumes up to 0.9 US qt (0.8 liters) of oil per
600 miles (1,000 km). The oil consumption
may be higher than this when the vehicle is
new or if you frequently drive at high engine
speeds.
