Yeah, but it works the other way around as well. There are features that are available in other countries, but not in Canada. For example traffic info in the navigation.

I think pre-safe uses the cameras.

Would PRE-SAFE sensors be on the rear as well? I'm guessing maybe it's just cheaper to produce them all the same way?

Hey Widman,
I would really appreciate if you share the details of where did you get the front sensors installed. I drive 2017 GLA 45. It has black circluar things little larger than the size of a quarter on the front bumper, but I don't have any parking sensors installed. I so much want to get them installed. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

It’s embarassing

My colleagues laughed at me when I told them my fancy GLC doesn’t come standard with front parking sensors. I had just assumed it did when I bought since this such a standard feature in other cars... majorly disappointed. I still love my car but MB is not so ‘perfect’ anymore.

To be clear. They're not there.
.it's cheaper flr mercedes to cut out the holes for parking sensors for everyone and just put in a plastic trim piece covering it.
So fornmost people it looks like parking sensors, but in reality it's just plastic trim pieces covering where the parking sensors should be.

Cheap? Unbelievably so.

My wife and I made the same mistake the first time we purchased a GLC. The sales associate said they weren't there but didn't emphasize it (of course not, to better sell it), we kind of forgot that, and realized after we purchased it there were no front sensors. We were looking at a few manufacturers and it was easy to forget which ones had them and which didn't. After a few weeks of feeling very stupid, we adjusted. A few years later, we had some trade-in deal and upgraded to the GLC we should have got the first time.

Back up Sensaors

I installed the $40 N Vision Sensors; it's a great alternative to the $1,400 Parking Assist Pkg.!!!!

Back up Sensors

The Brand Name is N-Vision, they sell for about $40. I installed them about 1 1/2 years ago and am very happy with them.

Well, if you were getting that package just for that, then yes I would agree, but I don't think anyone is adding that package just for the parking sensors.

Just picked up 2019 GLC300, what a misleading to the customers, why keeping those parking sensors around bumpers when it’s not even working. If u spent $52k on the car don’t u think it’s should’ve been standard or at least have a trained salesman to tell that to the clients that those are just for display only.

When I was looking for GLC I was wondering about them too, but salesman told me they are used by the system.

For me it’s a display or a trick so clients can presumed that those parking assist is included. I can’t think of anything that they use that for something, the front maybe for braking assist, maybe! But the the rear side? I’ll ask the service when I go visit them and I’ll post the update. And make a note of key less too it’s not standard for $52k worth of car.. I don’t know what they’re thinking.

Wrong! Mine has all around sensors everywhere but no parking assist. I almost hit my cabinet garage and not even a single beep or tone came out. I called the salesman he said there’s no park assist and can’t even explain what are those sensors for.

100% agreed in this level car they must be standard. Here is what I found, maybe they are used for PRESAFE to work.

On our 2017 GLC, the front sensors are for collision warning. If your coming up too fast to the car in front of you the warning goes off. This is above 20mph I believe.
