GLC Active Brake Assist in action
As you see in the video there is a person sitting on the curb on the right. I was looking at this person, and the car in front fully stopped in front of me. I did not see this, but luckily the car did and fully applied the brakes and put the car to a full stop.

Boxes alone may not work. I don't know if the MB system uses radar, cameras or a combination, but cardboard boxes don't have much/any of a radar reflection. Suggest some aluminum foil on the front of the boxes if you try it. This should make the boxes visible to the radar.

Mine worked last night. Have a 17 GLC 300 4 matic with PO3 and going up my driveway my 12 year old nephew jumped out in front of the car from side bushes almost didn't have time to react and car applied brakes by itself complete stop and belt tighten. Was surprised and very lucky it worked. Yelled at him but also thanked him(inside of me) proving to me auto brake works. So yes even with the PO3 package auto brake is on full time.

yes please do your tests with the boxes or your lovely mother in law and let us know. Mine worked perfectly thankfully hopefully granny is quick on her feet to keep your wife happy.
