GLC spare tire options
Will the donut from a 2019 GLE 350 4Matic work on a GLC300 4Matic without any modifications? The part number is 1674000300 and the tire is T155/80R19. I currently have 18" wheels and assume I might need new lug nuts but other than that would be it be plug n play?

Do most people who swap out the run flats with a traditional tire do so due to the ride quality (and abbreviated longevity) or for the eventual higher replacement cost? I see the OEM run flats are only $30 per tire more than a traditional tire. In some cases they are are as much or cheaper than a traditional tire.
In 2011 I had a BMW with run flats and replaced them with traditional tires and indeed the ride quality was better. Wanted to check if thats the same situation with you folks. Being as I have a leased GLC 300, just wondering if its worth the trouble as we'll barely have 20k on the car at the end of the lease (my wifes is the driver and this GLC will be a true cream puff). If I have to replace the run flats, then new run flats are not crazy expensive.

while i believe the ride would be better with non-RFT, i am not unhappy with the ride and am considering non-RFT mainly primarily because of the expected 30k or less miles available with the scorpions. the non repairability is also a concern. The Michelins i am looking at dont really appear to be much cheaper than new Scorpions, but in my opinion would even be worth paying more for given nicer ride and longer mileage
i have 20k on mine now and the wear is noticeable; i may not even reach 30k which sounds like similar to what others have seen. I have another vehicle with same size 235-60-18 Mastercrafts with 25k miles on them and they look brand- new

Just wanted to follow-up. Does anyone know if the donut from a 2019 GLE 350 4Matic will fit on a GLC300 4Matic without any modifications?

Does your acquired spare tire kit fit in your cargo bay with the cover closed ?
Thnx
Pahunter.
This is the one I got off of eBay for $175.00 and a complete jack kit for $99.00. They fit my 2017 GLC300. It all fits under the hatch with a location for the jack parts and lug nuts.

Is there anything different between the 2017 and 2019? Seems like the one they are posting above would work just fine.
I can't give you a part number, but I ordered a 2020 due for delivery next week and had the option of ordering an OEM compact spare tire with it, which I did. It was $200 USD. Don't know why it would not fit in your 2019. Having said that, it is possible it comes with a different liner in the underfloor storage area to accommodate the tire, while allowing the the deck to close flat.

Well, I just order the one shown above for my 2020. It was $90 including shipping and taxes from eBay. There's a ton of them for sale. Looking at the area under the trunk floor, it looks like a 4" spare will fit. We will find out!
I also order shorter bolts for $24 and a complete jack with tools for $36. So $150 for everything. I will report back on whether it all fits and works. I'll definitely do a test tire change using just the items I bought and drive the car to make sure everything will work when it's needed.

Just following up. Did you receive your spare kit you ordered and does it fit in your cargo area below floor hatch ? Maybe a few pictures if you were successful.
Thanks
jeff
Long story short, it all works, I’m happy with it all, but spare only fits on the rear. So if you have a front flat, you put spare on rear first, then rear on front and front in trunk.
There is a bigger spare available but I don’t know if it fits under the floor like the one I got.
