GLC spare tire options
Rim 1644000102 does not fit on a GLC with sport package. See images below:
Notice the scratch around the rim from rotating it. The caliper scratched the rim.
IF ANYONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND ONE RIM THAT FITS THE GLC WITH SPORT PACKAGE or GLC43 or GLC63, please let me know. I’m a little desperate at this point.
So not a big deal.
Long story short, it all works, I’m happy with it all, but spare only fits on the rear. So if you have a front flat, you put spare on rear first, then rear on front and front in trunk.
There is a bigger spare available but I don’t know if it fits under the floor like the one I got.
I have come across this spare wheel and jack kit from a 2010 ML. It doesnt appear to have the part numbers A...........002 etc as part of its make up, which has been suggested as ideal. Any ideas whether this would do the job for me on my new GLC 220D ? andrew .........

I tried yesterday the rim A1644000102 from a GLS 63 AMG ,it;s good for the rear but not for the front .
Even on the GLS 63 , the spare is only good for the rear but not a big issue because it's a square set up .
The A1644000102 is 4.5 X 19 ET 40 with a 155/80/19 tire
The A1674000300 is the same number and same tire
Any idea Anyone ?

You should post that in a new thread with an appropriate subject and you'll probably get more responses.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
My salesman lied to me about the runflats and a spare tire with the 2019 MB GLC300
Not sure why? Whey dealer would not include this option for an additional $200 but would add a bunch of cosmetic options?
Probably think that it is also "safer" for the consumer to simply drive the run flat to the nearest service station without working on their car on the side of a road and possibly get injured by another motorist or thug?
While I would prefer the spare myself, I know if my wife or daughter called and said, "I can try to change the tire on the side of the road myself, or I can call and wait 2hrs for MB Roadside Assistance to show up, or I can simply continue driving to the nearest, safe location/home/MB Dealer." Want to know what I would suggest???

On the other hand, I thought about getting a tire plug kit. That will probably take care of 90% of tire issues. If I run over something and damage a rim, I'm stuck on the side of the road until a tow truck shows up unless I have the spare. I really think I should have a spare.

Seems to be of good quality and it shipped quickly. Seems to be more expensive than what others have done in getting a used ML spare and parts and such, but it was easy - one click ordered and done.
And at this point i am about 99.9% percent sure i am going to get a set of CrossClimate2 tires with the current Costco promotion (I have the 18" wheels). I will for sure need them before the winter as i am around 32k miles on the Scorpions and some areas at 4/32" so its time.

In addition to TireRack, the original CrossClimates seemed to have very good reviews on many other sites, so I am assuming and hoping that the 2’s are at least as good if not better. I also saw that some of the other Michelins I looked at such as the Latitude and Premier had some strongly negative reviews, and I didn’t see very many poor reviews of the CrossClimates.
I also liked the fact that they have strong winter performance – while we don't necessarily get a lot of snow, it is nice to know that if we do they should handle very well. In addition, there did not seem to be a big tradeoff in dry performance, as again the reviews seemed pretty solid in that area as well.
As they have a much different tread pattern than most of the other tires, I am a little concerned, especially when it comes to road noise, but I would assume overall they should be better than the Scorpions I have now. Also, I wanted to buy at Costco, so my field of options was the ones they offer.
Bought the Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires. Got rid of the run flats. Much better ride and these tire eat up the snow. Quiet tires. I recommend going this direction instead of buying run flats. I think you break even right away when you consider this is a 60,000 mile tire that can be repaired if it gets a hole. Overall he SUV is so much more enjoyable to drive without the run flats.
I'm not a high performance driver, so I don't know about steering response...I drive like an old man. The tires seem okay going over bumps...the run flats caused vibration in my steering column that I thought was just normal for the car. That went away with the cross climate 2 michelins. Now it feels like a more solid SUV...more like what I expect a mercedes to feel like.
I really like how these tires handle the snow. I hear the wind while driving, not the tires on the road. These tires look aggressive. People tell me it looks more sporty compared to the scorpion run flats I had before.
I asked my dealer and they said all the GLC they have has spare tire

The Nokian's are amazing in snow and ice, and handle much better than the Pirelli Scorpions in the dry.
The CrossClimates are probably the top choice but I haven't warmed up to their looks yet.
And this is my 6th set of Nokians.
