Not able to do if you are looking to change to factory setup. Different wiring harness and programming. There are sellers of HID kits and LED bulbs online. These may not work great in halogen reflectors.

Not true. See Huyuci's thread over on the W205 forums. He pulled it off. It ain't easy, nor is it for the faint of heart, but it can be done. Not a kit thought. You'd have to hardwire it yourself.

not interested in a jerry rigged system. I realize that you cannot just switch the factory system without throwing codes etc. So I was hoping that by now there would be a kit for conversion from the after market.
Anyone have a suggestion for the best replacement bulb to improved appearance, and most importantly, visibility.

I have not seen any kits for appearance. There are Hid kits out there but they may not work well with halogen reflectors. Same is true for LED bulbs.

you can always tell which cars have had these done in their standard lights. it blinds everyone else, gives off weird light patterns, and generally just look odd. they are terrible for other drivers. halogen light casings are not made for HID's. as for LED's, i would imagine something similar but i am not sure about that.

Aerowerkz sells a kit. They are a vendor/sponsor on MBWorld.org. They installed my dash cam this past Saturday and he had the LED kits in the customer lounge. We talked about it... as I had told him how I had decided not to pay an extra US$6,000 for a model that had LEDs.
