FYI - spare tire install on my standard 2017 GLC 300:
1) Used Wheel: $55 from ebay - (Pulled from 2011 ML350) - Interchange Part # 560-85015 (MB part #A1644000002 also works but gets less matches)
2) New tire: $126 from walmart- Kumho Spare T131 T155/90R18 113M 2) 5x short spare tire bolts: $36 from online retailer - MB part #000-990-17-07 (this is an updated part #) (Plenty of chinese made bolt sets available for $25 but I don't trust them)
3) Tire Change Kit: $99 from online retailer - MB part # 166-580-69-00
I have 19" wheels with 235/55-19 tires. But my spare wheel is an 18" with a 155/19-18 tire. This is fine because it's the tire diameter that matters, and the sizes are only 0.7% different according to https://tiresize.com/calculator/
Where are you guys storing the jack? It looks like on the left of the trunk area on my 2019 GLC300 that there's a spot for the jack but mine doesn't fit there. Are you just storing the jack down by the left side of the tire?
My kit came in a canvas bag. The bag has a velcro strap to keep things from rattling. I jam it between the trim & the wheel.
The bag works for me- I can quickly grab & carry everything with 1 hand.

The MB jack has a particular shape & a 3/4" protusion in the middle. It mates perfectly with a plastic guide attached to the frame. The guide ensures the jack is positioned correctly and cannot slip as the frame angle changes.
"Can" you use a generic scissor jack? I think it's possible if you have no choice, but I also think you'd damage that plastic guide.
Furthermore, the MB jack is simply better: a comfortable plastic grip to turn by hand, the ratchet handle takes less effort than the usual U-Bar, and the kit includes a wheel chock, so you're not searching for a random piece of wood.
I have a 2021 GLC 300 that came with a spare which can be used on both front and rear hub. My wife has a 2019 GLC 300 which did not come with a spare and I was looking for a cheaper alternative than the $900 OEM spare from the dealer. Put the 2021 spare in the 2019 as it needed new tires and went with Michelin Primacy and there is so much less road noise and a much better ride than the Perelli run flats! Will buy the Modern Spare at $360 + tax and shipping for the 2021 GLC as it’ll fit better below the lid, it’s a little bit wider, 155 v 145.
Hello, If I read your posting correctly, you were able to installed the spare wheel from a 2021 GLC-300 on your wife 2019 GLC-300 without issue. May ask what's the part number if you have it handy? I am looking for a spare wheel for my GLC-300 2019. Thanks.

You read it partly right, that's a reference to the factory option that your car lacks--and that is cost prohibitive to purchase after the fact, plus it comes without tools (jack, short lugs, etc.). I have a 2015 ML350 spare and the official MB tools kit for sale posted in this forum's marketplace. As the poster "bluenuys" just above shows in #151 with his photos, that ML spare fits a standard GLC300 (2017 shown same as your 2019) front axle and rear. https://mbworld.org/forums/market/893620

Correct. Attached are the pictures of the 2021 GLC spare.
But you will be better off cost wise buying the a new spare from Modern Spare at less than half the cost of the OEM. That’s why I went that way. Also, buying used spare comes with risk depending on how old the spare is, several trusted sources have said old spares have a higher risk of blow outs due to age and lack of use. Good luck.
Hello, I also have the GLC-300 4M 2019 model, and looking a spare wheel for it.
You mentioned in your post you bought the compact spare wheel for the ML350 (A1644000002) 155/80/18 and it fits below the cargo hatch and latches. When I called Mercedes, they told me the correct size is T155/80/R19.
Can you please confirm you bought ML350 (A1644000002) 155/80/18?
limvo05, there's much to convey so you understand this matter better. Plus, not to believe everything a dealer states!
Take it offline to a private message where we might exchange phone numbers and discuss. This may be unfamiliar territory to you, but some of us are well versed in car, tire, and wheel matters. The first point is your car likely has 235 60 18 standard sizing or upgraded 235 55 19. If it has 20"s or AMG brakes, that could be another matter. Figure out what you have to start. Then I can show you your math.
