tyres skipping on lock when turning hard

Both the C class and GLC class RHD 4matic vehicles from MB have this problem. It is much more pronounced in cold weather. There is an old thread about this in the forum. Welcome to the crabbing club.

Lots written, what are your Tyre sizing, which country are you located in ?
For 20” rims, UK are issuing Vredestein All Season tyres and in Australia MB are issuing Goodyear All Season.
Please do a search on this issue on this forum, look for one with the highest views and comments.
https://mbworld.org/forums/glc-class...full-lock.html. Started Dec 2016, so lots of info and some solutions.
21” tyres using Continental “Star” marking, optimised for BMW and Rolls Royce, Continental may be re marking their MO tyres one would hope !
Check your tyre pressures, run at 36psi and make sure you have latest wheel alignment settings as there have been modifications to default specs.
- what brand of tyres are you running ? Run flats (MOE) or ‘normal’ type ?
Good luck

I took delivery of my 2018 GLC300 4Matic with 19" wheels one year ago. I never had the crabbing issue. However, I DID have significant impact harshness and body vibration after encountering sharp bumps in the road, such as recessed manhole covers. See this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/glc-class...umps-road.html
I had the appropriate service campaign completed and then swapped the Pirelli runflats for Goodyear all seasons. The good news: No more vibration. The bad news: Now it does the "crabbing" thing on full lock at parking speeds. It doesn't bother me at all but I thought you guys might find this amusing.

Here in Oz, MB have so far modified the default settings at least 3 times, so maybe MB USA, need to alter settings to allow for AllSeason characteristics. Settings in UK also were altered.
Issue is not a lot of adjustment in settings due to way car is set up.
check tyre pressure too, try running cold around 36psi, if tyres hot from driving to servo, fill to either 38 or 39psi to compensate.
Good luck.

Did they do a full wheel alignment ?

I got my GLC300 in March 2016. First set of Pirelli tires lasted 11,000 miles. Now the new ones last 9,000 miles (1,000 miles of which were driving back and forth to the dealer in Denver for several other issues). So that makes twice when we put our summer tires back on we were told we had to change them. Now we've discovered the Pirelli run-flat tires are not covered by Pirelli's 60K warranty. MB never said boo about this and the GLC300 is not on the Pirelli website. I am so disappointed with this car, my first MB after owning Lexus RXs for 15 years (7 in Europe and then 8 here in the States) with no problem. One problem after another. Just had to replace the radio module.
