Add smartphone integration to 2019 GLC 300?

I just bought my first Mercedes and assumed smartphone integration was included as a standard feature. Well, it's not and wasn't a feature on mine even though I had lots of other upgrades (sunroof, AMG, Burmester). Dumb, right? Am I out of luck or can I add it aftermarket?

Good question. I just got my GLC300 yesterday and it does have the smartphone integration. I like it but don't like that it has to be plugged in to use it rather than just Bluetooth.

Do you have Multimedia Package (Comand)?

If NOT, Check back with your dealer (Service Dept) and see if it's something they can "unlock" via coding...I'm sure they'll charge you for this. I believe Smartphone Integration is always sitting in the background, but MB forces you to pony up $350 to "activate" or buy as an option. I could be wrong on this, so don't hold me to it. If MB can't activate, there are some aftermarket solutions, but none I'm personally comfortable with using on my GLC. Kind of a disgrace this isn't a standard item. Good luck!

Sorry to tell you, but CarPlay is totally not possible at your car as it is only possible at MY2018 cars with SA154 Datacard codes (Audio20 head unit)
video in motion is only possible with wired module as Daimler closed OBD2 style activation starting 09/2017
wired module here:

Smartphone

If your phone is connected thru bluetooth. Can apps like Tidal be played thru the system from your phone or is smart phone integration necessary?

Thanks

OP says he has a 2019 GLC.
My understanding is you can either add the Multimedia Package (with built in Nav) or Smartphone integration (e.g. CarPlay, Android) but not both.

GLC300 and GLS450
I went to my dealer and he verified it is one OR the other, you can't have both Command and Car Play
