Mercedes windshield glass replacement
Is it safe to have the Mercedes glass installed by a non-dealer repair shop? I am not sure if the shop will need to connect or reconfigure any sensors when installing the glass and that is why I am concerned.
Thanks

Soft Reset
with engine running and all passenger doors closed) start at [0] then turn on wipers to [III] position, then put the switch in the [0] position then put it in the auto [I] position. At this point have someone splash water on the windscreen (arm out the window) as the doors have to be closed to reset this function.

Sigp232. It is regular glass, not acoustic glass.
I ordered OEM glass because I was concerned that when I turn the lease back in next year, Mercedes would require the returned car have OEM glass.
Plutoe, no it is not SafeLite, but the body shop is excellent (Also, it has cattle grazing behind it (really), not sheep, so I assume I should be OK.)
I eventually went with safelite and was happy with the result. I used an OEM-equivalent glass. Everything went ok, Rain sensor worked properly. No reset on my side needed.
In retrospect, I should have tried requesting OEM part. Might be ok with insurance company since the vehicle was pretty new.
The only issue that I have is that when I use the wipers, the passenger side's wiper comes to the driver's line of sight, as it used to stop at 90 degree angle. Not sure how to fix that?
The part number for my 2019, Glc 300 gives them a windshield with wires or an antenna of some sort on the sides. It also has a wire ribbon coming out the sides. My original windshield does not have that. Would anyone have a part number for the correct windshield? Mercedes only has one part number 253 670 0900 and that sends me the wrong windshield.
I have 2 cameras and a rain sensor behind the rear view mirror. Nothing else in my windshield.
