Spare Tire - Once Again - Why can't we buy one?
My wife's 2016 GLC has no spare tire, while some members have bought spare tires from other models that supposedly fit the GLC. Mercedes has now made spare tires available for model year 2020.
I emailed MBUSA requesting the info on the 2020 spare tires and below is the answer from the customer service dept.

However, we regret to inform you, we are simply unable to recommend parts not approved for your vehicle. As such, we are unable to recommend the use of a spare tire on you 2016 GLC.
We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
It is infuriating that they offer spare tire for the model year 2020 but won't make it available for earlier models?
I assume that they do fit all model years as there isn't much differences from one year to the other especially on the tires?
Is there a legitimate reason why they won't make them available?

same here, need a spare, so I'm also looking for the options, willing to pay extra for OEM, but looks like they are on back-order
and only for 2020. looks like it was surprise to MB, RFT are sucks.
The Road Hero Space Saver Kit 155-85-18 will get total diameter 721 mm,
on another side ML spare kit 155/90/18 diameter = 736
and my original 23/55/19 have diameter 741.
I'm not sure at what point it will have impact on transmission. this is only one concern I have for Road Hero Space Saver Kit 155-85-18
and only for 2020. looks like it was surprise to MB, RFT are sucks.

That's a nice looking NEW bundled... UK or not.. but I've notice few things.. 1. picture show 4 lug spare..vice my 5 lug rim, also I don't see the shorter lug bolts..
I hate to go the used ML350 spare route...

It looks different than the one on the Bay as well as the one on its own website. The tire size listed on eBay is also different then the one on website. Yours looks like 145/80 R18? If so, it’s quite different than what other members are using. The rim looks great but may not allow the wheel well cover to close properly?

Camaroguy,,,, Can't wait to see your GLC 300 spare tire package.. I have a base model so..I don't have the huge front brake calibers... I hope your GLC 300 spare clears the front wheel.... be looking forward to your post...

I know it an extra work but if spare meets other criteria's: diameter, fits under the lid and so on I would go for it.

The Spare Donut come with 2022 Glc 300 it’s the Brand NEXEN…T145/8019…. Even the RF Tires come with and it’s Size18” Diameter..I’m pretty Sure this Temporary Size Donut Tire..Will Fit on your 2016 … I have no Idea Why MB Refuse to Help..Or at Least Give a Commonsense Answer Why Not Recommended.. Good Luck..
