We bought a 2018 CPO and the vehicle has been great but there are three things that I don't understand or don't like.

1) When I use the max front defogger, there is a high pitched whine when the fan spools up to max that is sustained until the max is turned off. This seems like 'coil whine' but I'm wondering if I can get the fans replaced under warranty or if this is everyone's reality

2) When reversing, I have 3 options for reverse camera, and I assume the last one is because we have a trailer hitch. But what we don't seem to have is any audio guidance for proximity. If we get close to something (a wall, another car) there are no beeps or anything. In Vehicle settings - proximity alerts are on. Was there a specific option package to get audio warnings?

3) The Auto engine shutoff at stops etc does not work. It's turned on in the vehicle settings in every type (comfort, individual, eco, etc), and the button in the console is lit up green / toggled on, but the engine never shuts off at stops. Any idea what's going on here?

Thanks all!

For #3 the vehicle would have to be warmed up after driving for a while. Also, if you're using heat or AC at full blast or close to it the engine won't shut off.

I wonder if the prior owner programmed the auto stop off.

I doubt it but anything is possible. To do so there would prob be a single in the OBD reader.

Understood as I've had cars that had this feature before. The car literally never shuts the engine off in any scenario.

We have a 2018 CPO also and I noticed the auto shut off didnt work at all. I was at the dealer and inquired and they took it in. BIG regret. Truck was a week old and they determined the main battery was low which disabled the capacitors that do the auto start. So we got a new battery under warranty! problem is the auto stop feature drives us nuts! watch what you wish for.

For 2......the car needs to be extremely close to an object before it beeps.

I have had the #3 with the auto stop start--What temperature have you got the aircon set to? One of the techs at my dealer showed me if you set is on LOW or 18/19/19.5 C then the car will not allow the engine to switch off as it has to get the interior to that temperature before it'll allow the stop start function. It never works on low as what your basically asking the aircon to do is cool down to infinity.
Set it on 21/22 put it on Auto, as the fan speed decreases (when it gets to the desired temp) the auto stop start works.

I believe when I ordered my 2019 that I had to get the self-parking option to also get the back-up sensors. It was an overall expensive option so I didn't get it. I do miss it as most every other car I have owned has the back-up sensors.

For #3, have them check the battery. If something is not to spec, it will disable to auto engine shutoff. Replacement battery took care of it.
