GLC 300 Cargo Floor - Latch

In my prior 2018 GLC, the cargo floor had a hook underneath to latch on the trunk opening to keep the floor up while I looked for something cargo area below the floor. I noticed my 2021 GLC does not provide this hook and according to the dealer they were not aware it was removed or if it can be bought. Has anyone found an aftermarket hook to use to keep the cargo floor in the up position when looking underneath?

Noticed the same omission also, I now carry a wood dole in the trunk to prop open the cargo floor. (2021 GLC 43). Don't tell MB, they will make it an option and charge $100 for a wooden stick!

I thought the same idea, but was hoping to find another place to buy the hook.

Don't worry I won't tell them. LOL

Look at your manual, it’s in section Seats and Stowing, page 117, if I got it right

there is a hook on a strap, that’s on the underside of the cargo compartment floor cover

attach hook to the top seal, the big rubber seal

this is for the Coupe model

oooops, maybe on the 2021 it’s missing, sorry my 2020 has it....

Are you certain that the hook hasn't been replaced by some other system ?

Thanks. I had the hook on my 2018. According to the dealership, Mercedes no longer offers this feature on 2021. Wooden stick may work.

A short bungee cord should work - the strap is pretty cheezy on my 2020 - took a pic for you.

Part # for Cargo Floor Latch

For those interested, 2021 GLC's did not come with this Latch, however 2020 and earlier models did. I received my 2021 GLC 63 a few weeks ago and noticed that the latch/hook was missing. My dealer ordered one for a 2020 model year. Picked it up today, fits perfect. The part # is 099680011164. The dealer provided it, but told me it was $27.70 us. Hope this helps.

Cargo compartment floor handle broken

The cargo compartment floor mat handle is broken.
How can I open it now since I have the charging cable beneath? 😥

use a screwdriver or pen to push down on the top of the piece just left of center between the coils. That will release the latch.

MB GLC 300 Floor Hatch Latch

We own a new 2022 GLC 300 4Matic SUV; 'love the automobile. Nevertheless, it's hard to fathom that we're all spending our valuable time discussing a purposely omitted 2-bit Mercedes part...quite frustrating! This morning, $32.93 (including tax) later, I picked up the needed part. The strap and hook are sewn to a new cover plate; in other words, you have to replace the existing cover plate with the new cover plate + strap + hook. When stored, the plastic hook snaps into the cover plate. 2 torque screws hold the cover plate; you will need a torque head screwdriver. The retrofit is certainly convenient yet very cheap and low tech...grrr. This cargo floor lifting strap/hook debacle...Android Auto display issues...as a rookie first time Mercedes owner, such rudimentary basic problems are far beneath the Mercedes label...so I thought. Images attached...

Why is your part # different than the one that others have referenced? They’ve said the part # is 099680011164 but your picture shows 099680000064. Based on the picture in the MB online catalog, the # on your picture looks like it’s for a different part.

Good question...I wish that I had a good answer. The parts department took a good 15 minutes or more, consulting with each other prior to locating the part on their MB parts site. All I know is that it works, and I must admit...very handy.

It IS handy. Keeps you from having to carry a cutoff broomstick as a prop!

Worth your efforts.

099680011164 is #9 in the diagram below, "Floor Cover Plate" @ $25 and MBParts says it fits my 2015 ML400 but not the 2022 GLC300; 099680000064 is #8 in the next diagram, "Mounting Plate" @ $29.50 (though it's on sale for $23.33 at MBPartsCenter) and seems to fit either SUV. Go figure.
