@teal854t There seems to be a developing situation with cracked pistons on the M274 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder used in the C300, E300 and GLC300. A new occurrence was posted today in the GLC section of the site. While DIY is possible, replacing a piston on a nearly new engine would be a disappointing hassle.
Now someone can post links to other threads, where the word "piston" was used, to support the TREND!
It's the Mass Media philosophy - repeat, repeat, repeat and SOMEBODY out there will begin to think it's true. And theypost on Twitter, where, of course, everything is true.
And now, for some real substance: Engine problems are rare with the 2.0 GLC300.

Oh boy! You finally have "another developing situation" because one (1) person with a four year old car, not first owner, reported a "suspected" cracked piston. And then that one (1) post has been repeated several times and all of a sudden, it's a "trend."

cmon @mikapen spend some time reading the other sections of this site. You worked in the car business didn’t you? You worked for a Mercedes dealer, correct? Are you defending your home team? Are you capable of being objective?

As a result, I am pretty objective - and can recognize "overstatements" (being kind) when I see them. Especially recurring cut and pastes.

I had the same issue with a 2019 GLC 300 Coupe, 42K Miles Cracked piston #1. The dealership is telling me that I have to change the full engine at cost of 20,000 USD.
I dont know what to do.
