GLC trunk measurements

Hi,

I'm looking at some future vehicle options. 958.2 Cayenne S/GTS is an option or the GLC 43/63 AMG (pre 2020) could potentially work as well but I'm wondering how much shorter the trunk space is? More specifically:
* Distance from the trunk to the rear seats in the up position;
* Distance from the trunk to the back of the front seats (with rear seats in down position).

In the case of the Cayenne, it's roughly 38" / 71". Curious how the GLC compares.

Thank you!

Thanks so much! That is actually not bad at all; especially impressed with the 71" in the down position. Do the rear seats fold flat completely or at an angle?

Just so happens I'm in the middle of an audio upgrade and have some pictures of the rear compartment. The rear seats fold relatively flat but def not completely. Mind you, when the false floor is installed the angle isn't as dramatic.

Really appreciate those pics! Thanks so much! To provide a little background, I currently have a w164 ML and an Audi S4. Looking to consolidate both cars into one. I can give up a little space but need ground clearance and AWD while keeping it as sporty (i.e. handling) as possible. The two best options seem to be the Cayenne S or the GLC AMG with air suspension (can raise it if needed).

The Cayenne will have more space because it is a larger car. The GLC has 19 cubes with the seats up, which is even small for its class, but big enough for most people. Your ML would have also had more space.

For sure, although I tend to look at the length of the cargo space more so than volume since I don't typically stack cargo too much. So, 71" with seats down is identical to the Cayenne, which is not bad at all for a compact SUV.

Out of the 3, my ML for sure has the most.

The GLC is nice for carrying long things, particularly because it is long and low instead of tall. Stacking isn't ideal in this car, but since it doesn't matter and you want a fun ride, a GLC63 V8 would be a sure bet.

Yea, I'm sure the 63 would be a blast! I'd probably look at the 43 though. More in line with 958.2 Cayenne S price wise and mileage should be quite a bit better. I was very tempted to pick up a 958.1 Cayenne GTS but those had a V8 and it sounds particularly thirsty and isn't all that quick anymore. The GLC 43 would be a good balance but I'd have to do some research on them; no idea how reliable they are.

Right on par with the Cayenne I suppose. The 43 was nice, I drove one, but I needed something more practical. Sweet engine, the V6, even though it doesn't do the AMG V8 scream.

I can't speak to how reliable she is yet, having owned it a grand total of about 1.5 months now, but I will say it is an absolute RIOT to drive. My intent initially was to pick up this 43 to hold me over until I could make a 63 happen but I'm honestly not sure I want to now. It doesn't have the menace that the 63 has in tone and looks but it is very much a dual personality vehicle. It is comfortable and smooth and quiet in comfort mode while cruising around and turns into an angry little beast when prodded with the Sport + designation. I may hang on to this one for a while now. I just love it. Oh, took some more pics of the seats/cargo area once I finished my subwoofer install.
