2019 GLC 300 - how to open the gas tank cover from inside
Hi friends,
I got stuck with my vehicle with no power and no gas.
Need some help to get out of this situation - I am prepared with a jump starter cable, another car, and 2 gallon of gas.
However, I'm stuck at the stage to open the gas tank.
Any idea how shall I proceed. I literally have no idea how to open the gas tank cover from inside. There's no lever I can find
Appreciate the help or any advice !

Well - when no external power is linked, this will not work.
I haven't been able to try with jump start cable on, and hopefully it will work.
I am in a hotel and the maintenance guys are off now. They said will be able to help with jump start with another vehicle tomorrow.
The reason why I went into such an embarrassing situation seems that I left the engine on in the parking garage over the night. very stupid
As I cannot confirm myself whether pushing the flap with external power will work, and I cannot try now.
I want to get a backup plan if this approach doesn't work, and I start to check everywhere in the car for a lever for manual release.

Mistakes happens so don't blame yourself too much but I am curious, if you let the engine running all night shouldn't the starter battery supposed to be fully charged instead of being completely drained? I don't think you need to start the engine (which you can't because you have no gas, wait, so not even reserve level of gas?) just to unlock the fuel door. The fuel door unlocks as long as the car is unlocked, once it is unlocked pushing it usually just pops right out.

Thank you every one for the help!
So after the jump start cable was connected with another car (jump start kit unfortunately didn't help) , I was able to unlock the fuel door from the central locking. Then next steps became clear.
After the vehicle was back operational - I have the engine run for another 30 min for the battery light to disappear.
Some extra comments:
1. My guess is the gas was out first and the engine was off then. However the light was still auto ON until the battery died.
2. Manually unlocking the driver side door doesn't trigger the unlocking of the fuel door. Also - locking the driver side door with mechanical key doesn't lock other doors either.
Thanks!

Glad you got it all figured out now and back up running.
1. I see, so you are saying the lights drained your battery. That answers my question on why the battery was depleted.
2. Manually as in using the mechanical key that you explained in the second sentence right? Just want to make sure and as for unlocking other doors you just twist the mechanical key one more time (so basically after you twist it left to unlock, you revert to initial position then twist again and it should unlock all doors.

Do you reckon you now need to replace the fuel filter?
Given that you run the car till dry, with the crap sitting at the bottom of the tank.

We’re you using Keyless Go?
I’ve been using the old fashioned way of key insert to start and turn off my GLC since I got it, instead of using the keyless start system. It’s too easy to walk away and forget to turn off the car.

Does the GLC have a release cable behind the side trim in the luggage compartment? In the GLE, the release cable is visible when a small access panel is removed. The cable has a red or yellow handle. I looked in the GLC owner's manual and didn't find it.
