@Carlinkit Carplay Please provide an explanation as to who and what your company is. If you are the manufacturer (which it appears that you want to portray), why are you not obliged to provide technical support/firmware updates, etc. to everyone that purchases products that you manufacture and sell (to either your retail customers or your wholesale customers)? If you are the manufacturer, you make a profit from each unit that you manufacture regardless of the distribution channel. It’s hard to trust and support a product that is selectively supported by the manufacturer. I think it’s safe to assume that Amazon and their massive distribution capabilities sells the lions share of the Carlinkit Carplay products sold (apparently with no technical support). Something here just isn’t right.
I tried the U2W carlink 4.0 and although it was nice to have a wireless connection, I'm not sold on the product. Why? I use the center portion of my GLE 450 gauge cluster as the method to change what is playing and to see what is playing. This device shows a static carpay verbiage, when I'm actually using Android auto, and it does not allow me to use the steering wheel buttons. I will return to using wired AA or something else

Thanks for trying to assist. I'm not technically challenged but this process isn't working well. My phone says it's already connected to the WiFi of the carlink but then there is another WiFi available with the same name but it does not match what you say it's supposed to start with. I was able to get logged into the background but the connection was very unstable and kept dropping even after I was able to enable the sync option. Considering my normal Bluetooth connection sounds nearly as good as the WiFi connection, I'm still going to return the device.
Well my CarlinKit 4.0 crapped out yesterday, less than 4 months after buying it. Driving down a highway it just stopped. At the rest stop I saw that the indicator light was off. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting it but it did nothing. 4 hours later I was able to reconnect it, but it only worked for about 3 minutes. I sent a support request via the website. We’ll see but I’m not holding my breath.

I'm pretty happy just enabling Bluetooth on the phone, pairing it with the car (just like CarPlay / A Auto) and having it start playing when I start the car.
I don't like Google Maps, Waze has sent me on too many long and incorrect detours, so music is the only reason for me to connect. It can be done wirelessly or wired. Don't need any Apps.

Carlinkit4.0 adds wireless Android auto function compared to carlinkit3.0, the Bluetooth version of carlinkit3.0 is 4.1, and the Bluetooth version of Carlinkit 4.0 is 5.2.
My related complaint. The USB C near the cup holders seems to be always powered on, even with the car off. I'm concerned this dongle could drain the battery over a weekend. But maybe not, at .75 watt draw which I assume is peak draw.
Is your port always on, and have you noticed any issues?
(I calculate .15 amps, so with let's say a 75ah battery, would lose 50% due to this device in 10 days?)

My 2022 glc300, X or W253 has the usb port hot all the time, But we only have usb ports in the center console

Now confirm same on my E450.
This has an unexpected benefit. Pull in somewhere, turn off vehicle, run inside with phone (but not TOO far inside), come back out and CarPlay is instantly back where it was, with no "initiation" delay.

I hope you can help me before I return the Carplay AI Box. I installed and paired the (CPC200-U2W Plus) Carlinkit 3.0/ 4.0 Wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto Adapter in my wife's 2022 GLC300. At first she reported the Apple CarPlay feature was working properly but when she received a phone call it muted the music but it did not connect the call to the vehicle's Bluetooth. Is there some troubleshooting you can suggest?
