Added Navigation! Mercedes ME USA Store now Live
Hey everyone. Just on a whim, I went into my Mercedes Me Connect app, selected my vehicle (2020 GLC300) and selected Manage Services. Next to navigation where there is a “buy” link, it now goes to a website with the US store and I was able to buy navigation for my car!!!!! Honestly not a bad price either.
I placed the order, and now am waiting for it to appear in my car. The order status says it is waiting electronic delivery/activation. Check it out! I repeat… the store is finally live!!! I’ve been waiting for years and honestly never thought this day would come. Cheers all!

Update… 10 minutes later it appears as licensed within the Mercedes Me Connect app! Not in the car yet. Will report back my findings!

New features available to toggle on within Mercedes Me Connect… and I can add additional services that have the word “buy” next to them as a bundle for $30 annually. I might just do it to review it for you all :-).

Started working about an hour after that - my guess is that it downloaded the map data and then it started right up! I've got the full screen maps on the center screen as well as a map that can replace the right dial... options for both displays (separately configured) include 2D north up, 2D direction up (my preferred), and 3D direction up (not bad, but I'm more used to 2D).

I believe the Navigation option in the Mercedes store is just for MBUX 2020 and up models since it is just a feature that gets activated that already exists in the cars, and then the map data downloads. Anyone with a 2019 or earlier want to check and see if anything is available in the Mercedes Me store for their cars and confirm?

Hi friends,
besides the obvious advantage of having the GPS Navigation on the car, do you know of any other feature added when you buy the Navigation license? I told my wife about this new feature available but she is totally customized to use their maps/CarPlay app and disagree to pay the $550 (GLC300 2020)

Now if they'd only give us 2020 owners the dashcam activation.... grumble
EDIT: After looking at how terrible the Mercedes dash cam is, I'm very, very glad I don't have it. It's absolutely trash.

I paid for it in July and still haven’t gotten it. I took it to an MB dealer and they were able to update the head unit to enable the nav.

It looks like I may have the same problem. Paid for it a few days ago, and it still says "Activation in Progress" on the App. How long did it take the dealer to activate it?

Got mine OK
Would also like to see them do an update for active lane keeping assist

It took them 5 days to activate it. They said that they were new to the whole mb connect system and needed time to troubleshoot. I have been using the nav ever since, which is honestly better looking than that cropped out carplay that they gave us. Smh.
Give them a call and schedule a checkup, you’ll likely need a loaner.

Clarity on which GLC's can get the navigation
Does anyone know if a 2021 GLC 300 without the dash virtual cockpit can get the $550 navigation upgrade? I checked the build sheet on mb vin tracker and it says it's pre-wired for Nav, but I'm about to purchase the car with the intention to upgrade the nav, but I want to be 100% sure. I called service at the dealership and of course the immediate answer is no way, has to have it from factory, but I find my local dealer isn't usually helpful with requests like this. Any guidance? If I provide the VIN, can someone confirm somehow? I tried on the MB website but it requires me to register the vin to my Connect app, but I don' want to do that as I don't own the car yet.
Thanks!

The 2021 glc300 has Mercedes me connect and you can purchase the update to navigation once you register your glc300.
works for the 2020-2022 I already did my 2022 over 15 months ago and use it all the time. Down loads over the air
Not to bad talk the MB navigation, But our Hyundai navigation works better and simpler to use.
You will have to update the maps as soon as it is downloaded.
The dealership can do it for you, But I find most MB dealerships just don't want to be bothered and don't know
half what they should know. Poor customer service, just want to sell vehicles and do the service because ti
is good pay check for them.

good to know!
Thanks for this - I wasn't sure if not having the virtual 12.3 speedometer screen would prohibit me from getting the Nav update. Assuming you don't get the virtual overlays for the turns on stuff on the big middle dash screen however, correct? Just regular navigation?

To be fair my 2022 glc300 has the optional 12.3" digital instrument cluster. I called up the nav display to replace the tech display
It shows the map but none of the overlays or added information.
I'd never use the nav there any way, it works fine on the media display
The addition of the navigation is to the mbux multimedia system not to the instrument cluster.
Can't guarantee it will work unless you have the MBUX system
Will look further to see if I can find the nav being added to the model with the old standard display

Mercedes me call center was very helpful!
So I was able to get a number from Mercedes customer care to a specialist at the Mercedes connect/me/whatever it's called tech center. They were able to run the VIN for me and confirm that in fact the car I'm about to buy can be updated. They let me know anyone can call and ask and they can do a query by VIN to confirm what services would be available. To note, the car I'm looking at does NOT have the 12.3 digital instrument cluster, but would still get the nav on the center 10 inch screen like normal. Also learned there is a piece of camera hardware that enables the Augmented Reality version of the GPS. So the 12.3 is not a requirement for the GPS upgrade. Also learned that if the car has build option code "355 Preinstallation for retrofitting navigation system" listed in the build sheet that you can find from MB.VIN website using a VIN you might have, then the car CAN get the navigation after the fact.
Hope this helps someone else along the way and thanks again to Gene and others for the info!!!
