Question Has anyone ordered the 2023 GLC

I would like to place an order for the 2023 GLC in the next few weeks. Since pricing is now available, has anyone here placed an order? What is the expected time from order to delivery, what kind of pricing should I expect, MSRP, above MSRP, or any discount? Are any options not available due to chip shortages? If there is any other pertinent information that you can provide it would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Bryce1023,

First post on here - I was going to post in a different thread but this works. Yes - I ordered a few weeks ago. The order banks have been open since January but base price just showed up as a temporary number, something like $1.777M. My original production date was 4/3 but I made some changes and it’s now 5/15. I was told that as my factory order, it’s straight MSRP. Otherwise, such as taking one off the lot, it would be more. As far as availability, my date changed because I wanted the heated steering wheel. I have quite a few options so most items in the US order guide should be available. You can find the most recent version of that in the order guide thread below. I didn’t want the sunroof but somehow I got stuck with that. They were building models with the sunroof or something.

One note of caution - if you choose AMG and 20” wheels, check to make sure you can actually find that tire size in the US. I chose the 19” wheels because there are options available. The tire size for each is in the order guide.

It seems like the heated steering wheel is no longer a stand alone option, there is some conflicting information on this . Is it now part of a $450 package rather than a $250 stand alone item, thanks

I already have the new glc here in the UK. One thing I remember reading/watching, which is similar to the W206 is to avoid the air suspension and go for the normal sports suspension. Think its weirdly a smoother ride. I've got 20" rims on mine as we don't get a choice here. They put continental ecocontact 6q on them by default.

The other thing is, you can only get rear axle steering with the air suspension, so if that's important to you, order accordingly.

Summary of my experience so far. Ordered GLC 1/21/23 from dealer 1st allotment. Got VIN# 2/9. Built 3/3. At dock 3/6. Still waiting as of Friday to get a ship assignment!! Today I checked VIN# with the MBWorld VIN decoder and no information available. Can't explain why no info!

No problem with chip shortage. Had two chips that were not available when first placed order. By the time it was built they were included in the build. Think you should be ok. Dealer will see on the PO if anything is not available.

By the time you get to the dealer maybe they can give a better quote for delivery. As for discounts, haven't asked yet. My dealership is part of Auto Nation group and at this point I think it will be MSRP.

Chuci - nice, hope you are enjoying it! The rear wheel steering and air suspension aren’t options in the US at this point. I hoped for the rear climate controls that I see in most videos but that also is not an option in the US.

DESAL - your GLC exists, that’s great news! Hopefully you get that ship assignment soon. Looking forward to your updates. The options in my order pushed me out a bit but it will be worth the wait.

Do you remember which two options were shortaged? I know the earlier built cars don't have the kick to open trunk, but I'm curious as to what the other one was.

I was short P17 Keyless go package & 871 Hands free access. The only missing now is a ship assignment.

Ah, thank you! So P17 is simply a package code, meaning it shows up if all the other parts of it are present but doesn;t usually come with anything itself. So P17 shows up if hands free access, keyless go, and power trunk are all present, and if any one of those is absent (in the case of early build GLCs, serial numbers less the 20,000 or so, with hands free access), the code P17 will also be absent. Thanks for your help!

Worked for me. Might try a different browser.

You can also try the MBWorld decoder. Top of this page under tools drop down. It still doesn’t bring up my VIN but the “mb.vin” does. Not sure why!!

Any luck getting your GLC shipment assigned? Wondering how soon the first batch of GLCs will arrive at dealerships.

Desal,
Like you I ordered on 1/27 from Dealer allotment, build date was 3/8, vin assigned 3/6 and was boarded on vessel Bess in Bremerhaven on 3/10. It’s due to arrive at Brunswick, Ga on 3/29. Interested to see how long it takes to get to my dealer. Getting excited.

Yup, its on a ship: the ARC INDEPENDENCE as of today. ETA is mid April to land at the Brunsick (then to Delray FL).. But I'm not sure when I can take delivery! Think MB might have to give ok to deliver these 1st USA production GLC's. Trying to check it out......

Good news as we ordered early March. Hopefully see it in May. Also interesting to hear it was built in Germany. At some point it was rumored USA GLC's would come from India factory.

Update on 2023 GLC

Just spoke with a reliable source regarding status of 2023 GLC. I was told that there is a major problem getting the new screens and the vehicles may in fact be at the port in Germany, however, they are not shipping them until the screens have been installed. What was once believed to be arriving at dealerships in a week or so, may not be accurate, and more likely will be June or later. It appears that parts availability continues to hamper the new car market and when that happens actual prices paid are driven up. Remember, for those who purchase the vehicle, the more you pay has no impact on what the vehicle is worth when trading it in. Good luck if you are in the market for the GLC, as they trickle in it appears that buying at full MSRP may be considered a good deal. Thanks

2023 delays

I was just wondering if the MY2023 will be a relatively short run. Since a steady stream of vehicles may not be available until more than halfway through the year, the MY2024, which I am fairly certain will be identical, may be introduced in late 2023. This is a typical release time for the new model year. Not sure if that really matters, just a way for MB to catch up with their releasing of the next model year.

Please let me(community) know when it reaches the dealership and you take ownership. My GLC is on it’s way to Brunswick - 4/8 at the port. I think normally it would go thru VPC and on a truck to FL. I’m afraid this time they might hold deliveries till MBUSA puts the 2023 model on their website.

Hmm my dealer said that my car is finished and just needs to be shipped to America so does your statement apply to newer allocated cars?

Just was at dealership and ask sales manager about delivery. Told me the cars will go thru VPC and sit till the 2023 model is released in the US. It’s anyone’s guess when MBUSA will let the dealers fill the orders. It took forever for the MSRP to be released.

Think your correct have seen a number of promos for 2024 already. It looks like this will be the shortest run in MB history.

The information I was provided didn’t say that there were no screens available, to quote the person he said “ they are having a helluva time getting screens “ . I hope that your vehicle is ready and not just waiting at the port in Germany. I would think that MB needs to get some cars stateside to launch this long awaited new GLC. Good luck
