GLC 300 2023 Active steering and emergency brake assist inoperative

Just bought brand new GLC 300 with driver assistance package. Got Active steering assist inoperative and emergency brake assist inoperative warnings including engine warning symbol the moment i drove away from dealership. I brought it back and foreman is simply not able to troubleshoot the issues. Any similar experiences?

This place is a joke.
Never buy the first production year of any new model. Congratulations, you are a beta tester.

Is this not the same technology & basic platform of the C class that has been out for a year plus ?

Had my 300 SUV since 4/24. Not one problem to report. Everything works.

I would try another dealership for a second opinion even if you have to drive a few extra miles. They should give you a loaner if needed.

Body flaws like faulty seals and water getting in the trunk (and frying the sam module) were addressed after the first model year of the C Class.
Unfortunately software gremlins take longer than a year to be addressed. Cars are way too complex nowadays.
With my 2023 C Class (2nd year for US market) in two months of ownership I got two episodes where I saw errors similar to the one OP posted (one was the engine light), but cleared by itself.
Hopefully things like that will be fixed with future software updates.

Update- I was told that warning lights will go away on its own they in fact did go away but i was not convinced at all and challenged them to test emergency brake assist which car applies on its own when it detects a collision and when it was tested in safe environment .. they did not work.hence case was opened with MB germany and they found that sensors were showing working but was not able to communicate with main controller board unit located at right side of passenger seat. They also found that wires were not grounded and those were fixed. Got the delivery today.

check if emergency brake assist is really working… put a dustbin in parking lot and see if car is braking on its own…

Good advice especially in case for any reason it needs to activate it is good that it actually activates to prevent a collision. Not to rely on it obviously but good to have assistive technologies.

not to mention first MY vehicles tend to be more expensive than subsequent years, of course inflation, supply chain and everything that went on might had changed that but before that, the followed model year is usually cheaper.

This technology has been on Mercedes for nearly 10 years so not really a new model issue in my view just bad quality
