Red face Sun Roof?

I have frequently seen on YouTube videos that a sunroof (small, not like a large Panorama roof) was standard equipment on the 23 GLC. . Even saw a window sticker on a YouTube video with the sunroof listed as standard. However, my salesman insists that it is not standard, that you get the optional Panorama Roof or no roof at all. Anticipating my ordered GLC, hoping I might get a sunroof. But maybe not. Anybody know the story behind this? Was there an early 2023 GLC that did get it but MB dropped it?

Aloha,
I was told the same thing here in Honolulu. Either you pay $1,500 or go without.

I found the same scenario in the US. I did not want it but the sales manager insisted, to ensure they could easily sell it should I decline when it arrives (built but waiting on a ship as of Wednesday). I’d love if it came standard with the standard small sunroof but that’s not to be in the US. Similar for the rear climate controls - shown in many YouTube videos but not an option in the US.

Sun roof is not standard. I know because my dealer got like 10 23 GLCs in--all without sunroofs so I had to wait for the second shipment to get mine. My dealership got all kinds of weird configurations. It snowed 800 inches here this winter and they had $60k GLCs without heated steering wheels, and all but 2 were white. I hate white cars. I know it's personal preference, but who is spending $60k in snow country to not get a heated steering wheel, which my 10 year old KIA has.

Sunroof is standard on the Coupe only.

How in the world are there no rear controls in the US. I have the foreign videos that show a full digital display in the rear...how is it we (US) don't have that? That hole looks empty....and cheap. There are low-end cars that have a digital setting display back there.

I’m excited that my GLC’s ship just left Belgium and is headed straight for Baltimore. But I too am perplexed by the omission of the climate controls. The top selling MB model in the USA comes standard only with air vents and a cutout in the rear of the center console. Optionally, you can get USB but you can’t get climate controls or a 110 outlet back there, not even as an option. I don’t see it in the 2024 ordering guide either. I guess if I look for the bright side, the boys won’t be fighting over the temperature setting.

My salesman just informed me that my daughter’s ordered GLC is built and waiting to be shipped. I didn’t ask what county it was built in. She ordered a sunroof and is hoping that it has one . I’ve been hearing stories about chip shortages still persisting and some options and standard equipment being omitted. Even heard about power seats not being installed in some other models. I really should check if the vehicle is exactly as ordered. What has been the case with the GLC, are they arriving stateside minus certain features?

Mine had nothing omitted, it even came with the kick sensor (which is apparently getting omitted frequently). I am in Oregon.

EDIT: the hard first aid kit and warning triangles where omitted on the SA code sheet.

The only thing I have seen missing, and it has not been that often, is the rear kick sensor. The discount shows on the monroney label is only $100. There has been some question as to why there are European review videos that show a rear occupant digital heat/A/C control setup that is notably absent in the US version....and if that is related to parts shortages or not.

Rear climate isn't parts shortages, just the gods at MBUSA thought Americans didn't want it or that it would be too rare of an option to make sense to market. The only shortaged items were the kick to open sensor on the earliest production GLCs, and on current builds the enhanced ambient lighting option.

Got it. Seems weird as rear heat/AC controls of some type, digital or not, are so standard on plenty of vehicles, especially SUV's. And yes, on the ambient lighting, we have a 2024 build guide and for the enhanced ambient lighting, or whatever it is called, it says something about 'limited availability'. I have not noticed that on any of the 23's in stock (on the maroney labels) however.

Mercedes Benz of Rockville Center has build sheets available for viewing, a good chunk of the cars with serial numbers in the 30000s or higher have code D9C Credit for 894 Enhanced Ambient Lighting $-215.

Interesting. Must be a regional thing as they were shipped. I look in CA, NV, UT AZ and have note seen that. MB has shipped in pretty odd ways though...in 'chunks'. Like there are dealers that have 8 or 9 GLC with blue ext and tan Int and almost nothing else....and another dealer with almost all Black and Brown. I have yet to see one in stock with Neva Gray int....like they just built a bunch of them the same and then dumped them out to a dealer. I know when the Las Vegas dlr got their first batch (4) they were not even expecting them...they said they basically just showed up on a hauler. The only thing I have seen missing on occasion is the toe kick. The MB website is still a mess with the '23 GLC... with no way to 'build' one, and '24's are of course not on it either.
