Pressing the lock button twice used to disable keyless go for older MBs but things beyond 2023 (including) model year I believe they changed the combination of holding two keys (see operator's manual). Apparently it is too easy to double tap the lock button for this 3rd (?) gen key in the pocket.

I think this is the fourth time I have posted this photo in this thread. Here is where you access the standby mode.
I think this thread is getting very long. Maybe it should be closed and then someone might be inclined to open a new one.

Battery drain issue

QUOTE=Nevab;8784133]I purchased a 2023 GLC two weeks ago and twice it has not started. When I open the door, it starts beeping and flashing a screen saying the parking brake is not on. When I push the start button, the engine makes a noise like it is trying to turn over and the car scrolls through a series of messages regarding all the functions that are not working, says the 12v system has failed, the vehicle is inoperative and do not change the transmission. The car keeps beeping and flashing messages for several minutes and then shuts down. After a few minutes, it will start normally. Anyone else having this experience? Ideas?[/QUOTE]

Happened to us in September 3.5 months after purchase. We had it towed to dealer under warranty.
However, I have seen some posts where owners have removed the cable from the 12v battery. It allows the vehicle to reset. Just a suggestion, I do not have any direct experience.

The car was at a dealer 2 or 3 times because of the issue, they reprogrammed door modules as well as did a fuse box recall but it never helped with the issue.

Yes and I monitor it. We are retired and only drive the GLC 7500 miles a year. We started locking it in the garage hoping it would reduce the drainage on the battery.

The best way to preserve the battery charge over extended time is Standby mode. Please search on this forum, there are instructions on how to activate Standby mode.

My previous post #400 shows where the standby mode can be found.
BTW, I had the well documented charge problem. After my dealer updated the door modules the problem went away. I can leave my car in the garage for weeks at a time with no problem starting. It’s worth a try. Locked or unlocked while in the garage doesn’t matter. Also, when your key is in the house make sure it does not get jostled. My theory is that the key sends a signal when moved.
