purchased GLC 300 2023 few weeks back, noticed the scratch in digital headlamp…ensured that its not on the outer surface ..could this be too concerning? Thinking to report this.
ECE only? Dealer says "Normal" Low Beam
I wish I would get a defective message !
This seems to be normal across US digital lights. The W206 C class and R232 SL both suffer the same thing in the exact same spot. Must be for some DOT regulation or something.
I got a "right low beam" error message on my dash and my right digital light low beam was out,I never got a push or email from the APP.
I did have a faulty leveling sensor that was replaced that made my digital light functions limited, high beam assist inoperative, adaptive lighting not work.
My digital lights do suffer from that jagged look that makes it look like it has a defect. I am guessing that this is just how they are? The Dealer says this is normal but they don't even know about the projections and DOT regulations regarding the light.
I saw an arrow once when changing lanes at night. Never saw it again. Saw the spotlight feature activate fora. pedestrian once. Never have seen any other symbol. The light does not adapt to cars/signs/or anything. It simple puts on the high beam (opens like a curtain) and turns back to low beam when it sees another car. The Digital Light in the US is completely worthless upgrade unless you like the fancy dance the lights do when you turn on/off the car.
To note, there is condensation on the inside of the lights after a car wash. I am sure they will fail soon and be another trip to the dealer.
Exactly right, Wesley. Almost all useful parts of it are disabled in the US. No ultra wide beam, no vehicle cutout. The auto high beam is so crippled, reflective street signs drive it crazy. There is nothing smart about it at all.
Hi im having the same issue. My high beams only turn on when there are no lights around or house reflectors. i have noticed that when I'm driving at night along a countryside road if the houses have reflectors on the mailbox, the high beans don't turn on it literally needs to be completely black for them to activate. And then when a car is coming in my direction, they turn off they do not black out the car coming towards me. So what's the point of the lights !
We also have a C300 with the same feature and they work on that car so it's not blocked for north America

I have been complaining to the Dealer and MBUSA about this since May when I got this 23GLC with Digital Light.
I have asked them to replace the Headlights with the standard 23GLC LED lamps that would come with a non Pinnacle GLC.
I have not heard from the Dealer or MBUSA for three weeks and have reported these lights as unsafe to the NHTSA along with a few others.

Hi DF777 I'm getting the multifunction camera updated today at the dealership; if this works I'll let you know.
We have previously updated the 4 modules for the headlights, and it made them work better, but the problem was not solved.
Hi Rhic R ,I would appreciate any information you have. It seems that your Dealer is trying to rectify the problem,
unlike mine that tells me either get use to it or sell the car.

I'm sorry to say that it didn't work. There was no real change in my lights. I'm definitely out of options on what to do.
I guess unless Mercedes-Benz comes out with a software update for the lights I don't think they will do what they do in Europe.

That's too bad. MB USA has closed my case and said there is nothing that they can or will do and will not discuss it any longer.
The Dealership Service Manager will not return my phone calls. I am very disappointed in both of them. This will be my last Mercedes.
