GLC front row leg room

Had my GLC 2023 for a few days now, I'm regreting of getting it. The leg room in the front row is so small, really hard to find a comfortable sitting pose. I miss my old Accord so much.
Why isn't anyone complaining this here? I won't buy it if this brought up my attention.

Ahh buyers remorse! Doesn’t your dealer allow a set time to return the car if unhappy?

How long are your legs? I’m 6ft and have more than enough room on driver & passenger side. The rear is pretty good too. Before my salesman had me sign the paperwork I went for a test drive. This has been true for all 3 GLC SUV I have owned.

It's the width, horizontal space. The driver right leg and passager left leg are touching the center console. The seat is also narrow. Btw, i'm 5.7ft, not as tall as you.

Well, this is a compact SUV and you were previously in a large mid-sized sedan, its to be expected that space would decrease in terms of legroom. Lesson learned I would say is to do a longer test drive with the next car.

I am waiting for my ordered GLC currently at port in Germany. Seat comfort is one of my top priorities. I have test driven many GLC competitors and think that the 2023 might have one of the best seat widths but not sure. BMWs are a definite no-go for seat width! Sometimes it’s not the actual seat width but also the side bolsters firmness and height. I am 6’1” and 190 pounds. If I may ask, in the interest of research, how much do you weigh (benny99)?

Exactly, the left side booster is making me uncomfortable such that I have to move my whole sitting position to the right every now then. I didn't notice any sitting issue when I drove my friend's X3. Maybe I didn't drive it long enough. I'm about 150 lbs.

I’m 5”7’ and has no issues. Perhaps it might be a adaptability issues which might get solved on it own after using it for some time. All d best!!

Hope I can get adapted to it soon! I was seriously thinking about selling it and get a new Accord 😂

On Tuesday I sat in a 2023 GLC for the first time. When I got home my wife asked how the front seats were. I told her they were comfortable but felt a bit narrow especially the side bolsters. I'm 6' and 190lbs. We'll both check them out closer when we go for a test drive so I wouldn't say they are a deal breaker or anything, it just reminded me that you really need to check these things out carefully for yourself.

I have a '19 X3 and the seats are fine, but they are ventilated which have less bolstering in the seat and sides than the regular sport seats in non-ventilated X3's.

I'm looking forward to more time with the GLC as I think it might meet our needs.

Here’s my seat story. Last week I took one of my dealer’s 2 brand new GLCs for a test run. Salesman said “take it anywhere.”! So I took it 15 miles to my home to show the wife. Seat was acceptable. Then I took it the 15 miles back to the dealer and on the way back started to get quite uncomfortable in the seat bottom. Told the dealer I “don’t know if I can take my car when it comes in”. Back home - ordered a couple of car seat cushions from Amazon, one only about an inch thick and covers the whole seat bottom, the other only covers half the seat bottom. Took them back to the dealership to try them in the GLC. Sales guy said they are both sold but brought one out for me to try. Tried them just sitting in the stationary car. I think this is going to work even though I don’t like the idea of a seat cushion in a new car. Between the seat and the capacitive buttons I still am trying to make up my mind. Now considering alternatives. But it is a beautiful car.

I also started looking for seat cushions on Amazon. Any recommendations?

I bought RaoRanDang car seat cushion, $34.87 and Livtribe car seat cushion, $26.99 to try out different styles. Worth the expense if you are considering a $55,000 car.

Benny , a person of your size should be able to sit comfortably in almost any vehicle. Before you do anything drastic such as get rid of your new car, play around with seat heights and seat angles. Perhaps having your seat tilt forward or backward would increase your comfort level. Adjust your lumbar, seat extender etc. , give it a chance, I’m 6 feet, 200 pounds and I was comfortable when I test drove the new GLC. Good luck

You Tube video's can sometimes be a good place to get a review of a new car. There are a few for the new GLC. No doubt some do a better job than others. I do recall one of them mentioning that the width of the center console does restrict the front leg area a little as the console is fairly wide.

I completely agree with this issue, low horizontal space in GLC should be more commonly discussed. I am 240 pound male and I'm extremely uncomfortable in both front passenger and driver seats. My wife has been dreaming about the GLC for years, and I really want to buy it for her. But I just cannot comfortably fit in the front passenger seat.

Every three years we come for a test drive hoping they will improve the interior design, but the central console and door moldings get bulkier. I would like to highlight, it's not because of the exterior dimensions. Other mid/compact SUV are perfectly comfortable for me. Their center console is not as wide. How to ask MB interior designers to make front seats more accommodating for bulkier people like me?

PS: my wife wants the GLC because she is uncomfortable maneuvering a larger SUV. GLC is a perfect size for her.

Actually, for example, the GLB is much more comfortable - the center console is lower and narrower. My legs do fit in the front seats, despite it being a smaller car than GLC.
(Unfortunately my wife does not like the exterior look of GLB.)

There is also the GLA I guess if she is more into a rounded shape vehicle than the old MB era (boxy), like the GLK, ML, G-wagen, etc.

this is because of transverse vs longitudinal engine layout, glc has transmission and transfer case between the driver and passenger.

Oh and just realized GLA is built in Germany too but not in the same plant as the GLC but at least it is built in Germany unlike the GLB.
