2021 GLC43 Illuminated star problems

I was told by a dealer
that the partial outage that occurs with illuminated star being lit is normal when there is water contact. Is that true? Or is this really a defect?

I wouldn't think so, if true the star is not so bright after all.

I can't think of how that is normal though.

I mean, unless I am understanding it incorrectly, the illuminated MB logo shouldn't flicker like failing neon signs right?
It doesn't sound right (just imo)

Right, if you pour water on it a section on bottom goes out, star illumination is made up of tiny little lines around star and those in a certain section go out. Dealer stated the star consists of three or four leds behind it and when water makes contact it blocks the light, but if that’s the case why isn’t entire star going out upon water contact?

I am not digging their explanation either, what about trying a different dealership? Perhaps someone else can chime in with their experience as well.

Well I’m going to reach out to corporate first to see if I can get an expert in their corporate team to advise. If it is faulty this will be my third time going there and will need to consider the lemon law or the magnusson moss act if doesn’t get resolved at that point.
