2023 GLC300 4Matic SUV
Port to Dealership Timeframe

I ordered a 2023 GLC 300 SUV in the first week of May. The car was built in Germany and transported to Baltimore via ship. The car was delivered to Baltimore on June 28.

It has been sitting in Baltimore for 3 weeks. I can’t get any information from the dealership. The sales rep’s effort to find out what’s going on cnsists of refreshing a computer screen.

Am I wrong to think the car should be at the dealer by now?

Did you mean July 8? If June 8, then it has been sitting there for over a month, but if July 8 then it hasn't even been two weeks, so a bit confused about your timeline. However, officially MB says cars can spend up to a week in customs, then 10-20 working days at the VPC on average and a week to get to the dealership so potentially 5-6 weeks until it arrives at the dealership. If the vehicle sustained damage from shipping, then it can be even longer. Unfortunately, the dealerships have no insight until it's being released from the VPC, hence all they can do is refresh a screen. They have to contact the VPC for a status on where your car is. If you have a good relationship with the dealership, they might do that, but not if it's been less than 2 weeks.

My 2023 GLC got to Baltimore VPC on July 6, I got my truck from the dealer on July 18. Something is not right. You have to get on the salesperson at the dealership. Until you get your vehicle
, the dealership is not getting your money. They want to sell cars.

Is MB Logistics that screwed up? Do Fords and Chevys built in Mexico or Canada pile up in distribution centers?

Mine sat at the Baltimore VPC for 2 weeks in mid to late June. From what I heard while at the dealer, there are massive numbers of vehicles there. The reason, I’m not sure.

It may be a case of lack of ground transport (trucks & drivers)

Great news!

Please make sure you take a look at the actual window sticker and make sure you are ok with any deletes.

Also, make sure you do a thorough test drive, if safe to do so and you are comfortable with it, try to exercise the lane keeping feature (mine is problematic),
