2024 glc coupe (ordered) 2009 Porsche turbo
My dealer that I purchased two cars from would only sell me a new coupe for sticker. I called a nearby competitor and asked if they would give me 5% off. The sales manager crunched the numbers and said the margin on that car at this time is only about 4%.

No luxury brand survives on 4% margin. Big discounts at BMW now with low APR if you take delivery this month.

Luxury brands don't become luxury brands because they start with tight 4% margins. Just saying!
Multiple Mercedes dealers wanted ADM (sometimes as much as +$20k) on a GLS this past summer. I laughed and found a dealer who would give me MSRP.
Overpriced cars that aren't reliable isn't a very good formula right now. That #26 ranking will surely fall even further in 2024!

5-10% off is not unheard of at BMW right now.

True, or False?

My entry into Mercedes was a 2012 C300 4MATIC. The GM saw me walk in and we had a nice chat about possibly buying my first Mercedes. He sold it to me for about $1k below invoice (that's right...invoice...not MSRP). These type of deals were quite common for me but a first for a luxury brand. The sale price amounted to nearly 10% off MSRP! Over the years, I've owned other Mercedes but never matching the discount of the first one when I scratched the itch.
That dealership is still around and kicking and I continue to buy from them. If you've never purchased a car before the Pandemic, then your mind must be blown about getting cars below invoice!

If Mercedes is fine not moving product, then there's definitely a reckoning coming (especially w/EV sales losing steam and public support).

The truth is - Discounts are not fixed numbers that will never change. They are dependent on many variables, especially market conditions.
Going back to this thread’s topic “2024 GLC discounts”:
My dealer promised 5% discount when ordering GLC 300W4 last summer (see my earlier post). Car was delivered in November and the final purchase price was slightly better than 7% below MSRP!
Hope this helps members shopping for 2024 GLC…

Great, then 4% assumption is False, as evidenced by your C300 purchase.

Without negotiation, you get
AMEX $500 off
Costco $1000 off
To get more discount you need to negotiate.
GLC with Pinnacle trim is easier to get discount because it costs more than GLE350 base model.

Over the years, in addition to mentioned above, I used MBCA and AMG discounts, plus employee discount….

I only see discounts on select new Volvo, Chevrolet, Buick or GMC models at Costco. Link please?

I’ll state the obvious, it all depends on the dealer, big variation. The nearest Mercedes dealer to my local dealer is over three hours away so hence very little negotiation. I got only $500 off (ordered car) with me pushing hard.

I didnt have any issues with ambient lighting. In fact I didnt know that it was a standard option as I didnt order it.

Unlike the AMEX discount can be obtained via TrueCar website, there's no link for the Costco discount. The salesman took out a binder and verified that the GLC is qualified for the $1000 Costco discount. I think it may vary depends on location.
