I placed an order this week for a March build. Burmester is now not part of the Pinnacle package and is an additional $910. How long has it been this way?
p.s. I still ordered the pinnacle package and the Burmester.

The HiFi standard audio in the X3 is crap and I regret not looking around more for builds w/Harman Kardon.

Frontbass audio system is now standard for the coupe according to the October order guide.

I have that in my GLS. It can be quite disturbing the first time you feel it. You get used to it over time.

Let me know what you think once you "feel" it!

Yes, this was announced like 2 months ago for the coupe at the same time that they announced they would be offering cars without the AMG Exterior.

Same here, but the total price did not change. All they did is they removed the Burmester from the package and adapted the price. Then They charged me the difference...
Basically, no change.
This was in Belgium.

I was going to order a 2024 GLC300 SUV with the Burmeister sound system, because the surround sound on my wife's GLE350 is absolutely stunning (and I wear hearing aids!).

But the salesperson said the GLC300 Burmeister didn't have the surround sound effect. So I didn't bother pursuing the matter.

I ordered it on my GLC 300 Coupe that is due to arrive in a few weeks and the build lists it as “810 Burmester Surround Sound System” so I’m pretty sure that it will have that effect.

The Burmester on my MY23 GLS (also 810) is definitely surround and can play my multichannel FLAC files!

However, I do see a distinction in the MY24 GLS order guide that you may not be able to play the same MCH files w/the 810 package any longer and need to upgrade to the 811 High-End 3D package.
Since MY24 GLCs don't have an 811 option, that salesperson may be right! Mercedes cost cutting again and audiophiles are the losers!

The only way to find out is by bringing a USB w/your MCH FLAC files to test it out as I did on the test drive!

Thanks for confirming. Other GLC300 online listings and window stickers also say "Surround Sound" for the Burmester sound system. Here is one example from a local dealer...

Since Mercedes has a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" program that allows you to trade in a car for an equal or better car within 30 days or 1,000 miles, I'm going to try that, IF the Burmester Surround Sound really is present on the car. It's easy to ascertain this in the radio "sound" section of the touch screen. Thanks again for the constructive feedback.

Mercedes latest definition of surround is similar to Dolby surround or virtual surround and definitely not discrete channels!
