I spoke to RJA again yesterday and nothing has changed. However, they gave me the MB email address and I have contacted them asking about the delay. It would be helpful if as many of us as possible could contact MB and lobby them.

NTG7.0 (MBUX 2nd Gen) aka HU7 is used in all 206(C) 254(GLC) 223(S) 297(EQS Sedan) 296(EQS SUV) 295(EQE Sedan) 294(EQE SUV) 232(SL) 236(CLE), they share same software.
NTG8.0 (MBUX 3.0) aka CIVIC206 is used in 214(E), 2025-now 206(C), 2025-now 254(GLC) etc. Share same software.
My customer called back: “Max I really enjoy the the Maybach mode, super smooth and my family just love it so much”.

Yes. Sort of, but we dont have direct information of that, Can only do such try and error and test, then find out something new little by little.

You mean the coding or the system itself, if the coding, not yet although it is a very similar system to MBUX 2.0 so not sure why it wasn't compatible (the coding) with MBUX 2.0. If you meant the system, the 2025+ (and including) model year W206 and X254 has it from factory, MBUX 2.0 cannot be upgraded to MBUX 3.0, new hardware might be needed but you did mention you have a 2025 so you should have MBUX 3.0 already. As you know, MBUX 3.0 first appeared on the W214 E-Class and then the C236 CLE. The newest system is MB. OS on the all new CLA.

The numerical part, "206," probably refers to the W206 chassis. The automaker probably linked the control unit name to the vehicle platform on which it debuted.
