Coding no longer available for MBUX1 and MBUX2 Modules

I ordered the Distronic Plus retrofit kit from RJ Auto. Was excited to have it installed. I received the kit, but RJ Auto informed me that coding is no longer available for MBUX1 and 2 modules for the time being. It may take a few months for the issue to be resolved. I am holding on to the kit for now in the hope of this issue being resolved sooner than later.

Did RJ allude to the reason why he's unable to program them at the moment?

He said MB is reviewing their policy. He was certain it will be available again. I will wait a few weeks. If it does not become available, I will return the kit.

In the same boat- purchased OEM illuminated A/C vents for 2024 GLC Coupe and seller unable to code the vehicle. Fingers crossed aftermarket coding will be restored in the not-too-distant future.

Did your coding get resolved? I am waiting for distribution pro from RJ as well. No indication of when it will resume 🤷

MBUX 1 MBUX 2 coding

[QUOTE=Graeme369;9065746]Did your coding get resolved? I am waiting for distribution pro from RJ as well. No indication of when it will resume 🤷[/QUOTE you reached out.

Hi- At one time there was hope for October 2024 but that date has come and gone. I reached out just this past week for an update. From what I understand the date keeps changing and installers are at the mercy of Mercedes Benz. It seems no one really knows when the ability to code might be restored. Very frustrating as I’ve been sitting on these illuminated vents since April. There are non-OEM alternatives available and while tempting, I’ve been hoping this will all resolve soon. Fingers crossed!

Is it just these guys that are affected or all coding for MBUX2 is now stuck in limbo? Are there any coders out there that can still do it?

It is my understanding no one in the world can code MBUX2 cars. Mercedes removed aftermarket coding access spring 2024 for all of these cars as they want to review policies.

Coding was expected to be restored within a few months when first announced, but that is not the case. I presume coding will be restored at some point but that’s just a guess.

does anyone have any positive news regarding coding in MBUX 1&2? I’m still waiting to get adaptive cruise coded by RJ Auto.

What was RJ Auto’s response?
this is their WhatsApp response back in November. I was wondering whether other had success or had found alternative coders. “its the latest mbux system...., there are licensing issues around it. We were coding it earlier this year and last year, however it was taken down as mercedes moved to a license system and want to start issuing licenses. We are waiting for them to figure out the licensing and start offering the license. They keep moving the goal posts.

Other cars running mbux1 system and mbux1 facelifted we can code no problem, just not mbux 2 currently. It will be back, but like i said i cannot tell you when.”

Hi, MB Coders based in Bedfordshire are telling me that they can code MBux2. I’m awaiting a quote to get the Distronic Plus retrofitted. Will let you know.

That’s good news. It’s been 9 months now and I opted to go with non- OEM illuminated vents. Life’s too short to wait for MB to get its act together. Installed them last week and looking back wish I’d done it months ago. Literally plug and play and sync perfectly with the 64 color factory lighting system. To my surprise the quality of the vents is every bit as good as the OEM vents I purchased.

Finally…
Finally…
