Trying to find a switched 12v fuse to run my dash cam. Manual says the fuses are behind this panel and to pop it off. I carefully moved the soft molding off it. There is a lot of resistance to moving it. Anyone been successful in getting it off? TIA
I got it off. Pried it out from the edge closest to the steering wheel. Used the original power cord plugged into the outlet in the cargo area. Having the fuse panel off allowed me to fish the power cord from behind the kick plate.
When I got the panel off it occurred to me that I couldn't direct wire to a fuse because the camera is 5 volts. There are kits on Amazon for this. I haven't ordered one yet. For now I am using the original power cord plugged into the 12v socket in the back.
Do you know there is also a 12v socket in the front, on the left side of the passenger foot well?
Thank you. I did not know but now I do. Attached is what MC refers to as the MSRP. It's the window sticker with option codes. I underlined the option U35 for the cargo area 12v socket. I have stared at this for a long time but cannot see where the footwell 12v is mentioned. But thanks again to you I found it.
