2024 GLC 300 weak a/c

This is our 4th MB since 2017, but it's the first new one. The car sat in the sun today for 2.5 hours, with a sunscreen across the windshield. After starting the a/c took longer to cool down the cabin than our previous MB's. Also I could put a finger in a vent and hold it there without it getting too cold. Usually on auto the fan begins to slow down as the cabin temp reaches the setting. Never happened. Outside temp was 90. I am I too fussy or paranoid. BTW I scrolled through this entire forum but so no previous reference to this problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

Doesn't sound like a common problem on the X254, you said everything is set to auto but did you try setting it to manual, I assume temperature is set to the lowest as well, is it colder in the back of the vehicle by chance, what happens when you manually set it? Vehicle is in comfort mode and not Eco mode right? Eco mode blows weaker a/c

put the car in comfort mode and disable the auto stop start, the a/c is strong enough to cool down the cabin in seconds.

Yes, when on auto stop, the compressor stops and the air from the A/C gets warm FAST in these hot temperatures.

Thank you for the suggestions. ECO mode must have been on all the time yesterday, even though there was no light on the dash indicating on or off. I think it was on. So I watched today to make sure ECO mode was off and the car cooled much better. I guess my issue is self inflicted. My 2 previous MB's were a '14 GL450 and a '17 GLS550. Both had light colored dashes. The GLC is black. And the a/c feeder lines are right under the top of the dash. The temp of the dash gets extremely hot. Using a windshield cover helps when parked but once underway the sun starts to bake the dash. I couldn't hold my hand on it. I have an a/c vent thermometer and a temp gun. I'll put them in the car and try to remember to do a comparison and post the results. Also need to check on Comfort Zone. Thanks again.

Glad to hear you figured it out. You could consider remoting starting prior to entering the vehicle with Mercedes Me Connect.

Get Llumar Air 80 tint on your front windshield and ceramic tint on the other windows. That should help reduce the heat.

Update. Vent temp when car is first started was low 30's. Dash was garage temp 80. Made 3 stops. At end of third stop vent temp was 40, dash temp was 160. Used an old trick. Lowered the front windows for 2 mins to blow out the superheated air snd replace with 90. Vent temp stayed at 40. Set auto at 68 for each side and noticed fan speed seemed to be low. Turns out the setting was send air to the windshield, dash vents and floor vents. Set it to dash vents only which was a great improvement. Anyway by y sure ECO is off and the vent setting is dash only the air temp in the car is now acceptable. Thanks for everyone's help. BTW looked at window tinting. Will consider it.

not all tints are created equal, you want ceramic, dyed is useless.

Yes and tinting windshield is illegal in most places but depending on the jurisdiction, some places will never bother you. For example Llumar Air 80 (ceramic) isnt noticeable for
.

Here's a good tint reddit thread to get you familiarized.

Sadly, where I live they actually do care even if you can't tell it is tinted, however light, so windshield tinting is off limits (for me personally
