Huge Variances in Estimated Miles Per Tank - WHY?

My 2024 GLC-300 displays the largest variances in projected miles per full tank of gas, of any car I've owned over the past 3 decades.
On the high side, a full tank has been estimated to provide 405 miles. (Last Summer)
On the low side, today's fill-up is giving me a paltry 262 miles.
In your experience, what is the reason for this with the 2024 GLC-300?. Our 2022 GLE-350 varies too, but not nearly as much.
Thanks in advance for sharing what you know on this subject.

The biggest variances seem to be related to the season. I've read in other forums that "Summer" gas is blended differently than "Winter" gas, which could account for the car giving higher mileage-per-tank estimates before Winter arrived to Chicago.
Today I did fill up with NON Top-Tier premium gas, (Speedway) which could be the reason why only 262 miles was/is estimated from this full tank. (The usual "Shell" station was closed today.)
