MBUX 3.3

I got 2 updates within 2 weeks, last week I got 3.2.2 and no noticeble changes of any kind, but yesterday I got 3.3 and boy things are better.
Apple car plat finally full screen no weird empty space on the bottom and the sound quality is improved it almost feels like they turned on some hidden subwoofer that was disabled in the software(at least to my old ears).

There's also an option to turn on the steering wheel heating from the AC menu. It wasn't possible until 3.3.

Good to know. I knew you could turn on the heated steering wheel with voice activation

Does anyone know how Mercedes chose which order cars gets selected for the update since they do not seem to do them all at once. My 2025 glc300 with pinnacle trim had its last over the air update on 7/15/25

Can 23 GLC update to v 3.3?

I have a 2023 GLC 300 manufactured 6/23. My app says no available updates since V 2.61on 5/14/25. It’s a CPO car purchased in Nov 25. Can this be updated?

I believe the 2023 GLC uses the previous generation MBUX. Do you have the large touchscreen in the center like in the 2025 GLC? If not, you are using a different version of MBUX which the update does apply for. Even my 2023 c300 gets different updates than the 2025 since the newer one uses MBUX 3.0.

My 2023 MBUX was last updated on 5/13/25 to version 2.6.1. I believe it is probably the last one I will receive. Newer years have the 3.x which is completely separate from 2.x and is still getting updates. The interior of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 are exactly the same, in terms of layout and screens (finishes can be customized of course).

Thank you...my 2023 interior is as you say...same as the 2024-2026. But I have read that the 2.6.1 is the latest update. It does have MBUX Sound Drive Dolby Atmos, and other features. I have had issues with the car having the "low battery" alerts, even if it's only been sitting for a few days. I was hearing lots of mechanical noises fro hours after it's been sitting. I now lock the car and I hear less. It would appear to be a simple software fix...but apparently not. That's what I was hoping for.

The “low battery alerts” are very common problem for 2023s. Many postings about it, I had it. Bottom line - don’t just take your car to independent shops, go to dealer (actually why would you if you are in warranty period) and make double sure that your car has all the TSBs applied to it. Also I had a battery installed under warranty but problem has to be bad enough before they give you a new battery.

Low battery alert.

What did you do to stop this?

I took it into the dealer a few days after purchasing it- they kept it for a couple hours and then told me the standard reply (as I have read) - “ I need to drive it ..”. They never told me what was done - I suspect they just recharged it.

I got a Noco 5 battery tender and made sure it’s fully charged. I’ll track how long it goes again until I see the issue.

I have a Porsche that sits for weeks and have had other cars - never has this issue.

if it happens again, I’ll try a different dealer.

I take my car to the dealer about three times per year (two seasonal tire changes and one yearly maintenance). At least half of those times the dealer did a software update (TSB). If your dealer can’t confirm for sure that they have all been done then, yes, maybe take it to another dealer. Also, I put the car in standby mode when parking at home. Sometimes it will say not enough charge to do it or it might say it will last 8 or 10 weeks. Standby turns off the car alarm sensing. I have posted screen images of where standby is, you can do a search. I totally agree we should not have to do this, it is totally crazy. I now also lock the car even though it is parked in my garage. Don’t know if this makes a difference. Interstate driving does charge up the battery (again, should not have to do this). Sometimes I will put it on a charger. In your MB app under vehicle care - service it tells you your 12v battery state of health. All last summer I had no problem but now that it is below zero or more, and if I can’t put it in standby and it sits for multiple days the state of charge sometimes goes to “partial”. This sucks but what is a guy supposed to do? Changing cars would cost too much and other than this situation I really like the car. No problems in the above freezing weather and it is a great long distance cruiser. I think this is the longest post I have ever done.

Agreed with @Gitzer there are constant software updates being pushed out available only through XENTRY at dealers instead of OTA. The 12v battery low signal is a common error which was fixed in a software update but never officially recalled. This software update is different from the MBUX software which is mainly used for infotainment. Dealership service centers are a nightmare but they are free within warranty. My dealer actually tries to charge me to connect to XENTRY and scan for software updates, so I just say there is an issue with the screen blacking out or CarPlay dropping. Magically it's free...

Definitely keep pushing at the dealer and call MB corporate customer care if necessary and ask to escalate the case. You should pay for nothing while under warranty! My biggest gripe with MB is definitely their customer service/dealership side which tries to squeeze every last penny out of you.

I had a 22 c300 and loved having the newest generation before everyone but didn't realize I was a beta tester. I almost lemoned the car but my service advisor always had a loaner for me. I have a 25 c300 now which is the exact same car and it's flawless. Even our 23 c300 has only been to the dealer for service!

Putting the car in standby everyday is not only a hassle it's crazy. I'm sorry you've been putting up with this for so long but it's not normal. If you're doing this to maintain battery health after a replacement I would stop and see if the battery fails again. Just be sure to document everything (take a picture) including any errors every time and MB will cover almost anything under warranty. If a low battery error persists after multiple attempts at the dealer, lemon it without a doubt.

Also, the partial state of charge is normal. This doesn't indicate any harm or degradation only that you've used the car. It only displays full after long drives/ open highways so don't pay too much attention to it. It only really matters when you get a critical low battery/state of health alert.

Low battery alert

Thank you for the info and suggestions. Good to know that there might be software fixes - I would think so. I’ll follow up with the dealer. Thanks again

MBUX 3.0 is only available on 2025+ GLC models. The 2024 is running MBUX 2.0 so your updates will go up to 2.x.x. You receive a different set of updates for MBUX 2.0.
