Rear Wiper Fluid

Do the 2025 GLC 350e s not have wiper fluid for the rear windshield? I've tried pressing and holding the left button, which has a wiper fluid diagram on it, but nothing seems to come out. My front wiper fluid works just fine.

Try doing it longer, it might just need time to pump it back there.

I tried for about 30s and nothing. I'll try again later if it's not too cold outside. Thanks!

Same reservoir as the front.

If you don't use it often, it is certainly possible it takes time to get to the back from the front reservoir since as the other forum member mentioned, there is only one reservoir, unless your washer fluid is not the one suitable below freezing, it should not freeze. Let's go back to the drawing board, so you press this button shown here? https://www.mbusa.com/en/owners/manu...ow-wiper-onoff

That's correct, I'm pressing and holding #1 in the diagram shown in your link above. I have never used the rear wiper with fluid until yesterday. Took delivery in March 2025 so I haven't really needed it. Yesterday, we had rain and temperature was 8 degrees Celsius. The rear windshield had a cloudy layer (likely salt) that I was trying to wipe off with the wiper fluid. The wiper fluid is the one that was put in at the dealership. I have not replaced the wiper fluid since taking delivery.

Does the wiper fluid come out of the rear wiper or is there a sprayer like ones for the front windshield?

It comes out from just above the window, the ideal location. I used mine again today. Maybe yours needs to be primed, or perhaps the two way pump is defective?

I must have a defective pump. I tried again several times today and nothing comes out. I don't really see any signs of a nozzle above the rear windshield. Is it tucked under the little roof spoiler?

Must be, because that's where the spray appears from.

Yup the method is correct.

As explained by this fellow forum member.

You should be able to hear the pump sprayer motor if it is working.

No sound whatsoever besides the wiper squeeking across the glass. I must have a defective unit. I'm going to let the dealership know and hopefully they can resolve this issue when I bring it in for Service A in March. I hope this wont be too difficult/invasive to repair.

I know you've probably tried this, but press it HARD! A normal press just activates a single rear wiper pass. You really have to PRESS it beyond the 1st stopping point. The right button is what turns the wiper ON (and the gauge cluster lights up the wiper icon then). Go outside with car on and PRESS that left button hard. I hope that helps. It's almost like the accelerator kick down press or the brake hold press.

Yes, beyond resistance it is, worth trying.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I've tried pressing the left button hard and no difference. Lets see what the dealership says in a few months. I hope I haven't caused any damage and that the wiper fluid isn't leaking somewhere under the trim/fabric.

You were right! I was being too gentle. I had no idea that the button pushes in more. There are two stopping points like you've mentioned above. Everything is working as it should. Thanks again everyone!

Thanks forum member spyked and glad it works now OP. Happy holidays.

Not surprised you want to be gentle as we as humans don't like to break things in general or scared of breaking things.

Haha, I took mine into the dealership for the same issue when I bought the car. Looked like a complete idiot for not pressing it hard enough. Glad it isn't an actual issue.
