Oil Dipstick Location

Boy do I feel dumb. For the life of my I cannot find the dipstick. Even had the AMG cover off and still no joy. The manual that came with my car is for the GLC which obviously shows the non AMG version so no luck there. Every dipstick I have ever seen just stares you in the face but none to be seen. I assume it is red like other Mercedes.

Never mind, found it. Assumed it was the transmission oil dipstick since it is pink. Never saw a pink dipstick before!

Same happened to me, pulled the pink stick and there was nothing on it. Even wiped it down with a rag only to find a very slight reddish residue. When I pulled it a second time it was to the full mark of dirty oil. Still scratching my head on that one.

This one seems to have fooled everyone. I too thought the purple colour dipstick at the back of the engine was for the tranny.. I nearly had a heart attack when i first checked it to discover the stick was bone dry. After reading the manual, it states that the oil should be checked when the engine is warm, 30mins after switching off the engine. After following the instructions i checked the dipstick again, this time it was full.. Sigh of relief!

Guys, I must be blind but I wanted to check the oil, different way than via dashboard computer. But I could not locate any dipstick on the passanger side of the engine.

Can somene make a photo where exactly is it located on GLC 63S AMG?

Thx.

The 63S does not have a dip stick. From the menu scroll to service and there is a check oil level option. You can only do this with the engine off and the ignition on

Thank you for the reply. You think that it will show also if the oil was overfilled? I checked that and it only says Oil Level is OK - without showing any level of oil. That sucks!

But otherwise, car is great I just wanted to be sure about the correct level after car was on first service check - saw here somebody saying his level was overfilled from the service guy...

Thx

Go into the service menu like how you would do to reset the service interval. There is an info submenu that will give you the exact volume of oil. You can google "resetting service interval glc63" and follow the instructions to get into that hidden menu.

JW001 is right. There is a sub menu called Vehicle Data in the service menu and if you scroll through that data by using the up or down buttons you will find the exact amount of oil in the vehicle
