I recently picked up my 2020 GLC 43 with performance exhaust in Australia. While the car was on the hoist (for other reasons), I took the opportunity to photo the exhaust as I thought it might be interesting for people here.
The service tech said the Australian models do not have the OPF/PPF/GPF (petrol filter) like the models in EU and USA (I think). I couldn't see any OPF in the photos, but I am not entirely sure what the thing is after the cats. Looks too small to be an OPF from what I have seen on google images.
Pretty unrestricted system, just a resonator and H pipe. Sounds fantastic and I get great cracks even in comfort mode at 4k RPM under throttle... I am amazed and can't wait to get through break in and put it into sport +.
Thanks for sharing Sifor, The sounds from the AMG performance exhaust were a huge selling factor for me on the test drive. Can't wait to get mine. Loving your color, mine will be Brillant Blue too!
Are those quads real? I can' tell. Look like it's just a quad tip?
Welcome to the design language of all new mercs. The quad tips are not 'real' - the actual exhaust tip (one large diameter tip) sits a few inches behind the quad tips and is not physically connected. I believe it is designed this way mainly to do with fire/heat safety regulations...
Guys I have a very basic question: what is the AMG performance exhaust system for? Just for louder sporty sound, or it involves any difference in horsepower output or anything?
