Any update on when the GLC43 is scheduled for release from port? Tracking a few them shows they've been sitting in the Baltimore port since middle of July.

Given there are a number of'17 GLC43's still available, I'm assuming they'll be heavily discounted with the imminent arrival of the '18's. If there are no major differences in the 2 models, I think it makes sense to go with the '17 model.

Also, if leasing, the money factor on the '17 is .7%. While the MF on the '18 is 1.68% (still not bad).

Are there any defined major differences between the '17 and '18 models?

2012 5.2 R8, 2012 TTRS, 63S Coupe on order
AMG Night Package cannot be added

As posted before I have been awaiting a Nov. production/Jan. Delivery GLC 63S Coupe. A couple weeks ago I advanced a request to change my order to include the Night Package. Just found out that the AMG Night Package is unable to be added to my November build order. SA says builds for Coupes with Night Package will open up later in 2018. SA will refund deposit as I do want the Night Package. Seems strange, but maybe it's just another Mercedes head scratcher. I'm in no hurry, so at the very least I'll know the price of the car in advance and no doubt have a better negotiating position.

I don't understand it. Mercedes seems to do a lot of weird things.

I ordered a Coupe with night package and didn't hear anything about a difference in build date.

Going to swing by my dealership tomorrow to hopefully finalize everything and get a fresh print out of my build with pricing at this point.

I'll finally upload everything when I get it!

Please post what you feel comfortable sharing. My SA told me no new update on my order. Still January build with some option prices not yet finalized. No price on Napa leather seats or 21 inch wheels.

Won't be able to get over there today, but hopefully this week.

As a side note, I went and looked at an RS3 this morning for the heck of it. Sticker was $70K and most they would come down was $500. Sticker on my M3 Competition Pack was $81K, sale price was $73K. You kidding me that Id pay $3K less for 1. Smaller vehicle 2. Less features even when fully loaded 3. Lesser brand (in my opinion)!? The AWD is the best part, but the value I dont think is there on those. Seats were comfortable but were not power. Just casually looking at this one was all the confirmation I needed for the GLC63.

That’s ridiculous. Audi is really going crazy with pricing. Same issue with the RS7. Too expensive compared with E63S and also the Audi cars seem cheapish in terms of materials.

I was going to say drivers assist and advanced lighting. And no pricing on the 21 RWBs.

Did you notice that the GLC63 advanced lighting package is cheaper than the GLC43?

I'm guessing that its because the standard LEDs are included

There seem to be a few differences that I could tell. The 63 Coupe has a higher base than the SUV. But, you get a moonroof (not full panorama) and you get the spoiler, so the pricing difference is really only about $2k or so when comparing apples to apples. I also think the lighting group price is different between the 63 Coupe and SUV. Not sure why option pricing on the 43 would be any cheaper, unless its Coupe vs. SUV. Its interesting when you go to the global AMG website and start looking at the country configurators. The pricing there is very different from the US. They charge a lot more for the AMG night package and other options that are standard on the US models are options on the European models. Much more a la carte over there. I like the France and German configurators, you really get a sense of what the US model will look like.

63 option pricing is cheaper than on the 43.... I am thinking its the 63 models having the basic LEDs as standard equipment. I wanted the ambient lighting and active headlamps, which is why I went for the lighting package.

Unlike many, I hardly use a moonroof, so putting 200+ lbs of glass and motors at a high center of gravity was not worth 2000 dollars to me.

Coupe vs. SUV is a very debatable point. Personally, I like both, so a non-issue. But I have seen strong arguments on both sides. I chose the Coupe simply because I preferred the style. These are 1st world problems. Your build is awesome.

Thanks, man. I hardly use the moonroof too, but I think the pano looks so cool. I agree with the weight piece though. I LOVE not having the sunroof in my M3 and having the carbon fibre roof instead. On the SUV I think it looks awesome - had it on my JCG and enjoyed it for the looks more than anything. I'd say I am more about straight line speed and if I wanted to do something twisty, I'd rather do it in a car anyway. However.... You do have me thinking to drop it now, ha!

I think the Coupe looks cool some days and not on others. I would LOVE to have a GLC63s SUV, but of course we dont get everything from the front door. The SUV just works better for me and all the stuff I haul around, so it made the choice easy for me. Had their been a 63s SUV, I'd have gone with that for sure.

I would have gone with 63S SUV with Panoramic roof too. But since they didn't, I went the other way and got the Coupe. Since we were originally going to get the E63S until my wife decided she wanted a higher ride height, we should be fine with space in the coupe. It's actually very comparable to an E sedan in legroom and trunk space.

It sucks that Australia gets the GLC 63 S SUV and not the US - https://www.motoring.com.au/2018-mer...vealed-107885/

It is hard to rationalize given it takes three times as long to ship these cars from Bremen to Sydney as it does to US east coast.

I'm a bit annoyed that to get the 997 driver assist package you need command, thus no car play. Ugh.

I really want an S but I don't think I like the coupe as much as the SUV. Is the difference just a tune or are there mechanical differences?

I find the Selenite grey really intriguing. I was leaning towards white because I'll keep it in FL but the grey is interesting.

Quick Q about the 4matic. I think on the GLC43 the transfer case has a fixed front rear split. Is it varialbe on the 63 or fixed as well?

Variable. From what I understand the regular GLC63 gets a mechanical diff while the GLC63 S gets an electronic diff.
