Is you car the 63/63-S ?

If so I’d love your tire specs as I’ve desperately got to tear off the stock 4-S tires, other than winter of course, they initiate grabbing when turning almost any radius and end up having excessive tire wear due to the cars set up from factory. A common issue amongst the 63/63-S with no cure other the running winter or all season tires.

So I had them fitted and so far I haven't experienced any crabbing, the road noise is much better than before, and I have also noticed a bit better fuel economy. I'll do the rears at some point, but I'm still not sure what to go with since i can't find the 295 Verde.

Now that you've had them for a while, are you still happy with the Michelin A/S 265/295 tires? I'm considering those to replace my OEM summer tires.

After a lot of frustration with the ride on my 2020 GLC 63s, I decided to switch from the 21" Pirelli PZeros to the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. I was getting tired of constant rattles and complaints from the family to the point that I was considering selling the car. Then I switched tires...
WOW - what a difference! The car has gone from crashing over every little imperfection in the road to a smooth, comfortable ride. I was running lower pressure on the Pirellis and at recommended pressure on the Michelins and the new tires are still far better than the old ones.
For anyone who's in the "I'm not sure if I want to keep this car" boat I was in, try switching from Pirelli to Michelin.

I had the same experience on my GLE43, the Pirelli's were really rough and PS4 were super nice. Still a firm, grippy ride but took the bumps way better.

Thankful for this thread. I drove the Conticontacts last year through the winter and at times it was scary. Slippery when cold and crabbing as well. I put on Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's yesterday at Discount Tire. They were good with 255/40/21's and 295/40/21's. A smooth drive and now I'm not concerned when cold comes to Texas later in the year. Again thanks for the forum as it probably saved me a few grand avoiding a wheel purchase.

So the 255/295 combo drives ok? No issues with the AWD or ABS systems? I know they build a tolerance in the AWD systems but wasn't sure how much of one it is when going from a shorter rear tire/then front combo to taller rear/than front combo. What about speedometer impact with the 295's on the rear? Still accurate or is it off by 1-2 mph now?

No issues whatsoever with the AWD or ABS. The size difference between the front and rear tire in diameter was 2.5% and now it's -2.5% if you don't count the compression caused by the weight of the vehicle which will make that less. It could be off by a mph or so at 60 mph but that doesn't throw any codes and I wouldn't expect it to since the difference in the tire size over stock in the rear is 0.2" uncompressed which is 6/32's of an inch or 3/32" per side.. Tire wear can cause that much variance so the computer has to deal with that. I am an engineer and I think we worry too much about that. The discount tire guy agreed that a 0.2" change in diameter wouldn't cause a problem..

This is giving me hope. My 2020 AMG GLC43 rattles quite a bit, from the front door trims to the sunroof, to the dash and sometimes the centre console. I’m getting close to purchasing the Michelins.

Next move is to save $700 next time & get the same performance by going with the Lexani LX-Twenty UHP tires.

I love mine - grip at the track, on the street, great in rain, nicer on the pocketbook.

I got a screw in the shoulder of the right rear tire and because those 21" Conti's only last two years they were already halfway done anyway. I was having a hell of a time finding replacements and decided to follow your suggestions on going 265/40R21 & 295/35R21. I found a set of Pirelli scorpion zero a/s plus for about the same as the Conti's. I got them fitted yesterday and so far so good. I hope they last much, much longer.

All GLC models OEM when it comes to “wheel alignment” - THERE IS ONLY FRONT AND REAR TOE (DIRECTIONAL) ADJUSTMENT. New car industries best kept secret !

Devoid of any Camber (or Caster) adjustment essential to “adjust tire contact angles”, allowing to spread load more evenly. Excess “edge load” also leading to higher impact, ruptured side walls.

It is all to do with cost cutting and ever increasing speed of auto assembly lines.

All align tech can advise / placate is to state “have adjusted front and rear Toe back to factory specs”.

Reality being they’re not able to resolve “the very crux of the problem “- “ongoing costly, edge tire wear” leading to premature replacement brought about either through day to day commuting encountering high cambered roads with excess right hand edge tire wear. Or wheel squat causing also the excess edge wear through load carrying or lowering. Nor able to have basic ongoing adjustment capability for curb knock damage!

Leaving owners with the frustration and only option of going from one dealer or align shop to the next or resorting to experimenting with constantly changing tire brands.

We saw the need therefore to “FIX IT RIGHT THE 1ST. TIME” and have re instated from the early 90’s once againfull front “Camber & Caster” and Rear “Camber” (with extra Toe) adjustment. Bolt-on kits, no mods and precise single wrench adjustable !

I had the ContiSport OEM 21" tires replaced last week with new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 AS tires put on and think it's a major improvement in ride quality. The crabbing is gone. Have hit the interstate a couple of times and she rides quite nice and handles well. Even in Sport+ mode. Discount Tire recommended the 255/40/R21 for front and 295/35/R21 for the rear.

I just fitted 265 and 295 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires. They are an option for the GLC63 w/21” wheels. They are a perfect option and within 1% of revs per mile etc.

Hello - if anyone is looking for All Seasons for their late model GLC43, like few others who have mentioned previously, I can confirm that Michelin Pilot Supersport 255s for the front and 295s for the rear work great. I had this combination last winter on my 2021 GLC43 and I felt they were better than the OEM summer tires. By the way, I'm selling those same (lightly used) all season tires if anybody needs them. Please see my other post on this forum if you are interested:

Id say for the GLC43 the All Season tires are easy to get. It’s the 63/ 63s that’s the dilemma really in terms of choice and lack there of.

+1 to the Pirelli Scorpion's. I have the all seasons and love them. Also had the Michelin Pilot 4S before, but prefer the Pirelli's.

Thank you! I just bought a 2020 63s and I was astounded at the crabbing, etc. and was seriously considering returning the car, while also looking at solutions for non-summer driving. Did you have any issues with the tires fitting? Did you use these sizes: Front Tires 265/40ZR21/XL Rear Tire 295/35ZR21/XL?

Hi All, I know this has been a long ongoing thread. Just looking for a up to date recommendation on the better overall tyre to get rid of the crabbing and which offers better performance,

Pirelli Scorpion Verde on a 265/40/21 and 295/35/21 vs Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on the same 265/40/21 and 295/35/21?

I have found some online for all 4 circa £800

Anyone recommends good All Season Tires on 21's for both snow and wet conditions? I see a lot of you with Pirelli Scorpion but was curious if there is anything else that performs as good or better?

Hi there. I have shortlisted between these two exact tyres and comfort is my key priority and of course no scrubbing/crabbing.
Any reason you prefer the Pirelli’s? How did you find the comfort and road noise of the Scorpion All Seasons vs the Pilot 4S?

I am currently looking at the Scorpion Verde for my GLC63 but was a bit wary on the performance of these but comfort and no scrubbing are my main priorities. What tyre did you end up with?
